  1. Four years ago, Illinois primary voters were probably far more concerned with the presidential races than the senatorial races.

Duckworth and Kirk both had relatively weak opposition in their respective primaries, and neither party had chosen a presidential nominee yet.

  2. “Duckworth and Kirk both had relatively weak opposition in their respective primaries…”

Oh, how things come around, like Kirk’s “relative weak opposition” in the 2016 primary was James Marter, who’s on the ballot in the 14th district.

Been hearing Marter’s grassroots, in spite of lack of money, have gone above and beyond what a candidate could do with very little money.

We’ll see if that impacts tomorrow’s primary result in the 14th.

Two years ago, a total of 60,098 Republican ballots were cast in the primary across the 14th district.

If these early voting numbers are any indication, the ballot count will be smaller than in ’18.

  3. Based on all the yard signs (and especially all the 4×4 signs) in my rural part of the county, Marter has a lot of support out here.

He may do better than expected because he is truly pro Trump & 2nd amendment.

With this virus stuff going on now, gun sales are again spiking.

Again, milk man support out here does not seem very evident at all.
