McConchie: Time to Match State with Federal Income Tax Filing Deadline

From State Senator Don McConchie:

McConchie: Time to extend state tax filing deadline

While Illinoisans heed Governor Pritzker’s order to stay at home to reduce the spread of COVID-19, Senator Dan McConchie is calling for the state to extend its income tax filing deadline.

“While staying at home to reduce the spread of COVID-19 is the right thing for citizens of Illinois to be doing right now, there’s no question that it has caused economic hardship for many.

“We have to balance the need to maintain social-distancing, with relief that people can benefit from now.

“This is why we need to immediately extend the state’s income-tax filing deadline to match that of the federal government.”

  1. I’m glad this is getting traction.

I spoke to H&R Block yesterday and they still hadn’t heard from the state.

Anyone I talk to about this assumes the state deadline is the same as the Fed.

You know what happens when you assume!

  2. I’m scratching McConchie of my “GOOD” list because he stabbed Skillicorn in the back with the other RINOs

Once you are off my list, it’s really hard to get back on it.

    He joined Weber and Reich.

Anybody who thought Schofield was good is quite missing the picture.

    Shame on McConchie!!!!

This won’t undo anything and is just another gratuitous gesture.

  3. Yeah McConchie aka ‘the Conchita’ turned out to be another fake. Are you people ever gonna learn?

  4. Danny McConchie never looks you in the eye.

He was a fudger from the get go.

Maybe Schofield will pat you on the head Danny.

I will NEVER vote for you again.

  5. Confusing info from Illinois irs revenue site. It says that the due date for filing a return is the same as for federal. Then it states that filing due date is April 15, 2020. See Below:

    https://www2.illinois.gov/rev/individuals/filingrequirements/Pages/extension.aspx

Due Date/Extension to File Income Tax Return (2019 IL-1040)

Your Illinois filing period is the same as your federal filing period. We will assume that you are filing your Form IL-1040 for calendar year 2019 unless you indicate a different filing period in the space provided at the top of the return. The due date for calendar year filers is April 15, 2020.
