Anyone Want to Peruse the Bill Congress Passed? — 13 Comments

  1. Cal,

As I said in email, that amendment, assuming it’s in the latest version of the bill agreed to last night, is the Butch Lewis Act of 2019, that passed the House last July as H.R. 397, and passed the House with 29 Republican House members supporting it. Basically, a bill that passed with a semblance of real bipartisan support from Republicans last summer.

I do not believe the Butch Lewis act, H.R. 397, addresses Illinois public pensions, but multi-employer, or private sector pensions, as I understand the bill.

Looking up https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/397/text could prove an easier read.

And this is assuming that amendment originally stated actually made it into the final version of the bill negotiated late last night.

  2. Guess I better amend what I said in first comment. Sections 1 through 8 of the Butch Lewis Act, H.R. 397, is included nearly verbatim in the Senate Amendment 1574. Sections 9 through 12 provisions of H.R. 397 were dropped from the amendment.

And caution is what is current available for H.R. 748 may not be the final negotiated compromise legislation from last night.

  3. It sounds like we get 1200 yangbucks even if we did nothing. That’s even more than Democrat Andrew Yang called for lol.

How are you going to spend the yangbucks that Donald Trump sends you? You could send your yangbucks right back to Don if you like him so much! We’re not allowed to do normal things anymore so your style is probably getting crammed, right?

Some people prefer hazmat suits, others iodine (it’s a radiation thing haha you don’t need that so don’t go hoarding that too because you would never need it!), others water filters.

Hey, remember that thing we used to do? Hugging? I think that’s what they called it. Back in the Long Ago. Back in the Way Back…

It’s 2020. You’re afraid to touch surfaces. You are afraid to stand near a human being.

Are you feeling the progress yet???

  4. Anybody wants to make an estimate as to how many people have read any of the first 2 comments from our republikkklan cyber-preacher, journalist wannabe? Hint: it is the only whole number that isn’t positive or negative…stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, hug your neighbor, tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeeoooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww…

  5. Angel you mean that same number that usually pay attention to you.

  6. Get ready for servitude.

Like the fakely named patriot act it was drafted years ago for the ‘right’ emergency.

  7. I read it. There is NO MONEY in it. It is all red-tape paperwork for a TAX CREDIT! A tax credit, people! The fake wireus is all over that thing. Eight-hundred-eighty pages of gobbledegook. Did you expect anything else?

  8. Cindy and all, make sure you are reading the correct version of the bill, and it is NOT the bill text.

You need to read Senate Amendment 1578 for H.R. 748.

That amendment is a gut and replace amendment, and the verbiage of SA 1578 is the actual bill. The original H.R. 748 that passed the House last year has been replaced with the full verbiage of SA 1578.

Please note, any reference to SA 1577, that amendment to the SA 1578 was defeated by the Senate.

Also, Senate Amendment 1574, from the article was NOT included in the final legislation, and was not passed.

  9. ** I read it. There is NO MONEY in it. It is all red-tape paperwork for a TAX CREDIT! **

LOl – you didn’t read it.

Or you don’t understand what you’re reading.

  10. Alabama, get your boyfriend(s), get your sex toys, get your drugs, get your cute underwear,

    AND GET THE F*** OUT!

  11. Notan – no boyfriend or sex toys.

Got some Tylenol and some cute underwear though.

But what does that have to do with Cindy and her conspiracy theories and inability to read legislation?
