For the first time in history, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives is an octogenarian
Today (March 26, 2020), is the 80th birthday of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, assuming Wikipedia‘s bio of Pelosi has the correct date of birth in 1940.
While Pelosi passed the legendary Sam Rayburn of Texas as the oldest ever Speaker of the House back in late January, today is the first time a House Speaker has been 80 or over.
At 80, Pelosi joins House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer among octogenarians among the House Democratic leadership, along with Congresswoman Maxine Waters of California.
God willing, if House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn is in office by his next birthday on July 21, the top 3 Democrats in the House majority leadership will be octogenarians.
Apart from retirement or term limits, in comments, please tell us what Speaker Pelosi should receive for this milestone.
Please be kind and polite with feedback, reflecting respect for our elders.
