Financial problems at the Northwest Herald have resulted in the cessation of publication on Sunday.
And word has reached McHenry County Blog that salaries there have been cut 15%.
Have readers noticed any NWH reporter’s bylines no longer appear?
They’re too ashamed to put bylines on their made up and/or biased ‘stories’
Northwest Herald reporters is an oxymoron!
Order takers is more appropriate.
Even though they only publish six days a week, they seem intent on keeping us entertained with their errors. In today’s edition they screwed up a story on page 2 regarding Rep Ugaste and issued a correction to the story on the very same page.
As if that wasn’t funny enough, they made a glaring error in the CORRECTION.
That takes a special kind of stupid!
Hopefully the Northworst Herald is soon out of business and John Styf is homeless and destitute.
Every community needs a functional local newspaper.
Unfortunately deep investigative work usually comes from the Chicago papers.
If you want to get your ‘news’ from a blog or Facebook, you deserve what you get.

I agree, but until such time as we do have a functional local paper, we’re stuck with blogs and Facebook, etc.
Before the Northwest Herald became the local daily, McHenry County didn’t have a newspaper fit to wrap garbage in.
Now we do! 😉
If any thing good comes from this pandemic, it may be the demise of that rag!

Hope the Herald survives. But, if it does not, the employees there could get jobs with the Democrat Party organization.
Numbers kind of indicate that the Chinese virus curve is getting better in McHenry County. Unfortunately, the coronaclock virus still pervades this blog.

Sorry, I didn’t see this or relate it to my comment immediately (you should give some indication of what you’re referring to).
Anyway, the Northworst kindly put both of their screw ups on the same page which can be accessed at either of these two URL (did a tinyurl in case the other gets broken up.) Read through both articles and if the error in “Clarifications & Corrections doesn’t leap off the page, read it again carefully. As I previously stated, it demonstrates a special kind of stupid! 😉
