Nancy Pelosi delayed bringing the “impeachment” articles to the Senate in Jan 2020. Then, rather than having a quick vote in the Senate, the Democrats wanted to drag out more witnesses and hearings through Feb 2020 and probably through March 2020 for the sole purpose of keeping the phony impeachment narrative in the news. Fortunately, the Republicans had the majority in the Senate and stopped the impeachment nonsense in the first week of February.

So, Democrats in the House and Senate were so busy last fall and winter with impeachment nonsense that they were totally derelict in not recognizing what was going on in China. They had on the blinders.

Have top US medical experts had RELIABLE and sufficient data to make timely recommendations to the President and the Task Force? This President as well as previous such as Obama, Bush, Clinton, etc heavily rely on experts in health, military, finance, etc to make decisions. Their decisions are only as good as the advice they receive. One of the two top U.S. medical experts and advisor to President Trump is Dr. Fauci. Per his bio:

Feb 2020 – More Virus cases in US from travelers to/from China

Feb 21, 2020 – First Virus case in CA of a person who did not travel to China

Mar 2, 2020 – Approximately 100 Virus cases in US including passengers from cruise ship.

Mar 3, 2020 – US Senate Health Committee has a hearing from TOP Virus/Pandemic Experts including CDC, NIH, Fauci, etc.. Twice in their testimony they said no “immediate” threat to US citizens. Quotes from their testimony:

Mar 11, 2020 – 1,100+ Virus cases in the US.

Mar 14, 2020 – 2700+ Virus cases in the US.

March 19 – 154 deaths in the US of which 94 were in Washington State and 35 in a nursing home there.

Mar 20, 2020 – 19,000 cases, 249 deaths

Mar 22, 2020 – 32,000 cases in the US.

April 13, 2020 – 500,000 cases, 20.000 deaths

o, on March 3rd, no “immediate” threat to US citizens was stated by top US medical experts. Were our best health experts as knowledgeable and timely as possible in giving advice and guidance to the President?

A hearing was held in the first week of March 2020 by the U.S. Senate Committee responsible for Health regarding:

“Emerging Disease Threat: How the U.S. Is Responding to COVID-19, the Novel Coronavirus”

There were 12 Republican Senators and 11 Democrat Senators on the Committee including Bernie Sanders. According to testimony by Dr. Robert Kadlec, Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, it appears from recent news reports that many (most?) States and hospitals across the Nation were not prepared for a pandemic as they were required to do.

They, the hospitals and States were supposed to PREPARE for a pandemic. Meaning physical equipment such as Ventilators, masks, gowns, etc plus sufficient beds on hand. Also, plans and procedures to bring in sufficient numbers of staff of doctors, nurses, technicians.

It is obvious from what we have seen and heard in the news that numerous hospitals around the nation HAD NOT PREPARED. So, many States and Governors shift the blame to Trump rather than taking responsibility for their incompetence.

Dr Kadlec’s testimony before the Senate is shown below. Did he misspeak? He said:

“Our nation’s healthcare system is better prepared than it has ever been. For example, all 50 states have Pandemic Plans, as a requirement of CDC’s Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program (PHEP) and ASPR’s Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP). HPP was established after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, with the goal of improving the capacity of local hospitals across the country to deal with disasters and a large influx of patients in an emergency. Using HPP funding, state grantees initially purchased equipment and supplies needed for emergency medical surge capacity.”
