Trump: From Hamilton to Jefferson in Three Days: How Trump Positioned Governors to Take the Blame for Cocid-19 Deaths after Economy Re-Opened

“The Federal government has absolute power [to open the economy in every state],” Trump said Monday.

To me, that sounds a lot like the strong centralized government that Alexander Hamilton advocated.

The backlash from Democrats and constitutional conservatives was immense.

Trump would have to bear the blame for people who died if the Coronavirus restrictions were lifted too soon, Democrats trumpeted.

Then, Thursday, the President was such an advocate of State’s Rights.

It was as if he had read the Tenth Amendment for the first time and had an epithomy.

He had switched to the viewpoint of Thomas Jefferson.

Of course, the Governors would be the ones to decide when to open their states.

The Federal government would offer advice, scientific advice, but the Governors would have the last say.

By switching positions 100%, doing a flip that would do any of Jesse White’s tumbles proud, Trump put the blame for any deaths after re-opening on the Governors.

The question in my head was whether the tactic was pre-planned.

Did the President set a trap on Monday and spring it on Thursday?

Or did it result from advisers brow beating him after he strayed so far from the traditional viewpoint on local control?

  1. Great Article Cal, yes Our President recognizes States Rights, he also recognizes Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx as experts regarding the Cocid-19 Virus, and he has given them the Recognition & Center Stage for the World To See, what they have worked so hard for.

Everyone please stand and applaud !

Next: CHECKMATE from Our President Donald J. Trump.

  3. LOL – nice spin anotherwatcher.

The guy did a complete 180 in 48 hours.

  4. Nice Oh!
This is just another example that Trump has no idea of what he is doing, or what he should do.

  5. Trump is not a conservative, and doesn’t have any set beliefs except that he is the greatest, smartest, strongest, bravest human ever.

It’s a shame that so many Republicans have fallen for his scam.

The GOP used to be the grown-ups, now they just make up stupid nicknames for other Americans and swallow whatever lies Trump decides to tell.

  6. Liberals are so fixated on their image of Trump as being evil/crazy/stupid/impulsive that they never stop to even consider that there might be a method to his madness.

Trump said what he said so that he can blame the economy on the governors.

He’s going to tell the voters this fall that the economy would be so much better if only the governors had listened to him and opened things back up sooner.

The governors will get little to no credit for saving lives by keeping things shut down, because we will have no idea how many were actually saved.

Trump is playing 3d chess while self-important clowns like Andrew Cuomo and JB Pritzker are playing checkers.

  7. Good comments by anotherwatcher.

Trump has correctly recognized in previous weeks that it is imperative to get the economy moving again AND in a safe and intelligent manner.

His Administration’s 3-Phase guidelines, created by top medical experts, will serve that purpose.

Trump and his Administration understand very well that each State’s leaders, from governor on down, have to implement the phases.

  8. You are acknowledging that he is acting irresponsibly and in a manner that is endangering people’s lives while avoiding to show any leadership so he can put the poor economy on governors.

And this is what makes him so brilliant.

    Got it.

  9. Thank You bred winner, I wasn’t sure the folks here would catch on to the fact that the experts and the Democratic Governors were working from the Global Handbook for the game of Checkers.

Their skills are being challenged by a plan that was not too well thought out.

Oh on, your theory is an example of the game, Pick Up Sticks, drop them, create a mess, and try to pick them up one at a time, without touching another stick.

I might suggest you stick to a game of Metal Jacks and a Rubber Ball.

  10. I wonder what your viewers think about this corporate debt bubble popping.

My parents had no idea what I was talking about.

The media literally runs fake news while they ignore things that are happening.

Hey, let’s all ask the computer-man about a novel respiratory virus!

    This is insanity.

  11. Twisted Trump supporters logic:

    He didn’t say that.

And if he did he didn’t mean it.

And if he did you didn’t understand it.

And if you did it’s not a big deal.

And if it is, others have said worse.

  12. Oh on, there you go again, trying to play, pick up sticks logic . . .you won’t win.

No matter how much you twist and turn, you still have a pile of sticks.

  13. Trump playing 3D or even extra dimensions 5D chess. The plebeians, brainwashed by the mostly corrupt and mainly left wing media and Democrat politicians, know less than checkers. They may be good at playing hopskotch on their driveways.

  14. Confused blogger? Gimme a break! He writes Jefferson and Hamilton, so he knows what he is talking about. In the name of a free and independent press, I demand that comment to be deleted. 15. Trump: I’m suspending travel to China.

    Media: Racist!

Media weeks later: Did Trump not act fast enough?

Media: Trump is Hitler! He’s a dictator!

Media: Trump has the power to close down an entire country, why isn’t he?!

Trump: I’m going to push to reopen.

Media: Trump doesn’t have the power to open the country!
