Johnsburg Planning Vouchers To Be Spent at Local Businesses

The Village of Johnsburg is planning to provide vouchers to residents in order to support local businesses. Here is that information, as well as what the library is doing:

SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES

Now more than ever our local businesses need your support. In an effort to provide some relief, the Village Board recently authorized fee waivers and other considerations to assist our local businesses. The Village is also developing a voucher program, which will provide each Johnsburg household a voucher to be used at Village businesses. The program is intended to help improve the local economy following the COVID-19 pandemic by providing our residents funds that can be used at local businesses once the Stay-at-Home Order is lifted.

In the meantime, contact your favorite Johnsburg restaurant to see if they are providing carryout or delivery services. Don’t forget about your local grocery stores, gas stations, and the many other Johnsburg businesses providing essential services. They are working hard to maintain supplies and prices despite being impacted by disruptions and price increases through their supply chains.

The Village has been advised that the following restaurants are providing delivery and carryout services:

Halftimes Bar & Grill, check out some current Specials they are offering.
Lake House on Pistakee, check out some Carry Out Specials (Feeds 6)
Stucky’s Bar & Grill, check out this Family Dinner Special
Subway

Johnsburg Planning Vouchers To Be Spent at Local Businesses — 4 Comments

  1. Timid, obedient Illinois proles wouldn’t understand.

But down here in Texas, gubmint is just one more pronouncement away from a violent peasant uprising.

  2. State is in free fall.

Wait and see if the various governmental levies will be honored by the Co. Treasurer.

    PS: He can’t print dollars,

  3. Many pension funds across Illinois were running out of cash even before the Coronavirus reared its ugly head. Some funds were even on the brink of becoming pay-as-you-go plans, where pensioners are forced to rely directly on employer operating budgets, and not pension fund assets, to get their retirement checks.

The proof is in the collapsing asset-to-payout ratios of most Illinois pensions. That ratio – which is one of the statistics Moody’s Investors Service uses to measure pension health – compares a fund’s total assets to how much it pays out in benefits each year. In other words, it measures how many years a pension plan can make benefit payouts before it runs out of money, assuming no new contributions or investment income.

Illinois’ worst-off funds only had two to five year’s worth of payouts left in 2018. They were among the most insolvent in the country. The COVID-19 market meltdown will have only shrunk their assets further.
