Wilcox Urges Governor to Call Legislature into Session

From State Senator Craig Wilcox:

Sen. Wilcox: Governor should call legislature back into session

Critical issues need to be addressed

McHenry, IL. – State Sen. Craig Wilcox (R-McHenry) issued the following statement urging the Governor to call Senators and Representatives back to the Capitol to take up critical issues for Illinois:

Craig Wilcox

“The issues facing Illinois are too critical to the health and safety of residents, and the viability of employers across the state, to allow the current shutdown situation to be left in the hands of a single executive to dictate the actions of all.

“It is imperative the legislature be called back into action as soon as possible to address the vital issues facing Illinois, which should include adopting measures allowing the General Assembly to meet virtually moving forward. Issues such as the budget, opening the economy, taking a regional approach to the pandemic response and considering other critical legislation are too important to be left on hold for another month.”

The legislature was last in session on March 5. There was a one-week break prior to the March 17 primary, but every session week since has been canceled. The weeks of April 6 and 13 were part of the General Assembly’s traditional two-week spring break.

  1. What a simp this Wilcox is.

    Don’t urge – DEMAND !

Treat them the same way as they treat you.

  2. Abe- Its a negotiation, you dont start with demands.

Craig is a gentleman and therefore is using the language of a gentleman.

JB may not be the best, but he is not to the level of demands.

    Soon but not yet.

  3. Unfortunately, the Republicans aren’t in a position to make any demands in this state.

They don’t have the votes to make the Demonrats do anything that they don’t want to do.
