The article did NOT say that “66% of those who stayed home contracted the COVID-19 virus”.
Rather, the article says that 66% of the cases come from people who stayed home. That’s unsurprising, given that 97% of people who live in New York live at home.
Let’s look at the numbers.
18% of new cases came from nursing homes. But the nursing home population makes up just 0.5% of the population of New York. So that’s 36 times their representation in the population as a whole.
4% came from assisted living facilites. About 0.2% of the population of New York lives in assisted living communities. That’s about 8 times their representation in the population as a whole.
2% of new cases were homeless. Homeless people make up 0.4% of New York’s population. So that’s five times their representation in the population as a whole.
Less than 1% came from prison. About 0.2% of the population of New York is people in prison. So around five times their representation in the population as a whole.
And about 97% of the population of New York live at home, and 66% of the new cases came from this group. So the stay-at-home crowd are actually under-represented.
This whole pathetic pandemic effort by the leftists…… Soros, Gates, Fauci, NWO, Deep State … is going to be their undoing.
Unintended consequences shall soon engulf them.
And they will be strung up throughout the land they sought to destroy.

He did not say “stayed at home”.
He said “overwhelmingly people WERE AT home”.

The accompanying slide also says “source of admission” with things like:
-other 8%
-nursing home 18%
-jail/prison <1%
-homeless 2%
-home 66%
-congregates 2%
-assisted living 4%
Based on the above slide info and the governors surprise, I think he is also taking the data a little out of context since “source of admission” says nothing about social distancing or STAYING at home
All it is saying is that when someone got sick and subsequently admitted, they were at home.
This is where Steve nails it. 97% of the NY population lives AT home…that’s where they notice they are sick… and that what the slide says (no surprise at all and not very useful IMO).
