“Let Our People Go,” Republican State Senators Urge Pritzker

Well, not exactly in those words.

Here is the text that all GOP State Senators sent Governor JB Pritzker, provided by State Senator Dan McConchie:

For weeks, Illinois residents have exercised their First Amendment rights to make their voices heard about the critical issues facing our communities, our state, and our nation.

And while we support the right to protest peacefully, we remain concerned with the restrictions facing Illinoisans during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the demonstrations taking place garner much of the media’s attention, we continue to hear the voices of our constituents, those not protesting but who remain worried their businesses, their livelihoods and their communities remain at continued economic risk.

They are equally confused by their inability to safely reopen and operate their establishments and places of businesses, while at the same time watching as tens of thousands of their fellow residents gather, albeit legally, in public places with little to no regard for recommended social distancing.

Other states in the Midwest are loosening their restrictions.

Many argued that Michigan had some of the most onerous restrictions in place during the early stages of this public health crisis.

It is now allowing in-person restaurant dining as long as the proper safety protocols are followed.

In the coming weeks, pools and gyms in Michigan will also reopen. Wisconsin, our neighbor to the north, has been open for weeks and the data there shows a flattening of cases.

Illinois remains one of the most restrictive states in the nation.

Illinois restaurants, unlike those in neighboring and Midwestern states, will still need to wait weeks before in-person dining could even be considered.

Gyms in Illinois remain shuttered and pools are only open for limited activities.

These are but some of the examples of why we are asking you to revise your Restore Illinois plan and adopt the 14-day timeline, rather than the current 28 days.

This would allow our state to move into Phase 4 on Friday, June 12.

The data provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health supports such a move.

According to the use of ventilators, hospital capacity and numbers of tests completed, each of the four regions listed is already operating at Phase 4 levels.

These trends demonstrate that Illinois can move safely into this next phase.

Illinois residents have sacrificed much to help contain the spread of this disease, but many are nearing the point of no economic return.

We believe that by working together, we can move our state forward, and our caucus would be willing to meet with you to discuss this important matter further.

Sincerely,

  1. How ’bout they fence off all of Chicago?

No one in or out, and wait 3 months and look at the results?

Protect the “most vulnerable and underserved” as the midget mayor of Chicago says?

  2. As someone who commutes to Chicago to work, I have problems with your statement Paul.

    Do you even commute bro?

  3. He’s not going to do it.

    Just watch.

He’ll use the protests and lack of made-up social distancing nonsense to attempt to downgrade the phase or attempt to delay.

This isn’t about “saving lives” or “science and data”.

    It never was.

We were lied to and people still believe the lie.

  4. Even my leftist girlfriend isn’t sanitizing groceries or my phone/vape everyday I come home.

I got a bit tired of having to wash my hands just for speaking with my neighbor just to appease her.

  5. Between the Lancet and New England Journal of Medicine Covid studies, having been unceremoniously debunked.

Not a single person in your Public Health Information Supply Chain, asked your Barn Owl in human skin, “not so sure about this ‘science’ your touting, boss”?

  6. I commute to my computer and work from there, wherever that may be on earth

  7. This is just so Democrat leadership

Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) walks out and gets his glasses hilariously tangled in his mask.

A mask that no longer matters because with rioters and looters galore, social distancing is so May.

    You can’t make this up

  8. Public gatherings that went from forbidden to mandatory for the protestors, will soon go back to forbidden, now that Trump announced he will hit the Campaign Tail this month.

  9. The FED chief said today no interest rate increases till 2022 at least.

I guess he never heard the term
trying to shoot 8 ball pool with a rope.

  10. It’s also interesting that the re-openers were guilted for killing their grandmas but if you’re part of the blm protests you get a pat on the back.

Honestly makes me wanna sell back scratchers as “back patters” to these rally folk.

    On both sides.

  11. Perhaps our $billionaire Governor can borrow all the tens of $billions Illinois needs to bailout out the reckless actions of the past and future at cheap borrowing rates?

Float those bonds JB and everyone in the chain gets a taste

  12. Lord Jumbo Boy, King Of Burgers, is laughing so hard
at this meaningless, pathetic, self-serving missive
the spineless R’s have scribbled that he can’t breath.

  13. Yeah. Our Republicans think that asking nicely is going to do something.

They need to just open up.

  14. Republicans defying government laws to reopen?

    Doubt that’d occur.

Pritzker is more like the hamburglar than Grimace.

  15. Recently had a first cousin whose husband died suddenly. She could not conduct any kind of funeral event because of the Chinese Virus. How is it that a person allegedly killed by a police officer in MINN can have many funeral events in different States around the US with various speakers such as an alleged reverend named Al that has incited riots? Why are they better than my cousin who greatly loved her husband? What kind of dispensation did they have by the corrupt Nancy or Schumer?

  16. Easy.

There is no political advantage to letting your family have a funeral.

Plus, Jacob Frey wouldn’t be there to cry at the memorial service and Sheila Jackson Lee, Al Green, and ambulance chaser Benjamin Crump wouldn’t show up to showboat and get people outraged.

  17. Whites are to be herded into self-abasement events in the coming years.

    This just the start.

Even white kids are the ‘enemies’ of the leftist swine.

There’s a gay teacher at Prairie Ridge who hosts a project “Deprogramming White Racism”.
