From the Woodstock Police Department:
Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault Arrest
On Wednesday, June 17th, 2020, the Woodstock Police Department’s Investigations Division initiated a criminal investigation of a reported criminal sexual assault.
This investigation originated from a report received from the Department of Children and Family Services (D.C.F.S.) about multiple incidents that took place approximately five years ago within the city limits of Woodstock, where a minor child was sexually assaulted.
The minor child, who was under the age of thirteen at this time of the reported incident(s), was subsequently forensically interviewed at the McHenry County Child Advocacy Center.
At the Woodstock Police Department on Thursday, June 25th, 2020, Woodstock detectives were able to meet with and interview the suspect, who was identified as 50 year old Woodstock resident, Homero Alcaraz-Bello.
After conferring with the McHenry County States Attorney’s Office, Alcaraz was placed under arrest and charged with the offenses listed below.
He was processed at the Woodstock Police Department and later transported to the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility.
The minor child victim has never resided with the suspect and this investigation remains active.
To protect the identity of the victim and because the investigation remains active, no further information will be released.
When children are victims of violent crimes, Woodstock Police Department personnel work in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team consisting of members from the McHenry County States Attorney’s Office, the Department of Children and Family Services and the McHenry County Child Advocacy Center.
