McHenry County Court Decision Requiring Health Department to Release Names & Addresses of Coronavirus-Infected Overruled by Appellate Court

The Daily Herald is reporting that Judge Michael Chmiel’s order that the McHenry County Health Department must provide the names and addresses of those diagnosed with Covid-19 to the Sheriff’s Department and several police departments has been overruled by the 2nd Appellate Court.

The decision can be found here.

The finding is below:

The trial court abused its discretion in denying defendants’ motion to dissolve the temporary restraining order because, not only was there no fair question as to the existence of plaintiffs’ right to the information sought to be compelled in the temporary restraining order, it was beyond question that plaintiffs had no right to the information.

  1. Chemiel is the schlemiel.

Prim & Kenneally need to be removed and disbarred, respectively.

  2. How can the damage be undone?

Are we going to get hit with a bunch of lawsuits now because Prim grandstanded?
