Island Lake Man Gets Nine Years for Sexually Assaulting Child

ROBERT BALLARINI SENTENCED TO NINE YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSE OF PREDATORY CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A CHILD

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that 59-year-old Robert Ballarini was sentenced to nine years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the offense of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

In July of 2018, the Island Lake Police Department received information that a minor child was being sexually abused.

The Island Lake Police conducted an investigation that revealed a minor under the age of 13 had been sexually penetrated by the defendant.

The defendant was taken into custody and plead guilty to the offense of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a child.

Under truth in sentencing guidelines the defendant must serve 85 percent of his sentence.

This case was investigated by the Island Lake Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Michael Combs.
