Remembering Elkton, Maryland’s Secret Deputies

This story in Beitbart about Clay County, Florida, Sheriff Darryl Daniels reminds me of the story of my grandfather Roy Skinner in the early 1940’s.

The northeastern town of Elkton, Maryland, was having a crime wave.

The Mayor decided to give fifty men in town handguns and deputize them.

Their names were not mad public.

The crime wave stopped.

Here’s what the Clay County Sheriff said:

Remembering Elkton, Maryland’s Secret Deputies — 11 Comments

  1. The US system is rigged to give all the power to minorities and to completely ignore the will of the people

The choice between the Demolicans and the Republicrats is not a choice at all

The systemic crisis of the US is too deep to be affected by who is in power in the White House

Simply put, and unlike the case of 2016, the outcome of the 2020 election will make no difference at all.

Caring about who the next puppet in the White House will be is tantamount to voting for a new captain while the Titanic is sinking.

The major difference is that the Titanic sank in very deep water whereas the “ship USA” will sink in the shallows, meaning that the US will not completely disappear: in some form or another, it will survive either as a unitary state or as a number of successor states.

The Empire, however, has no chance of survival at all.

Thus, anything which contributes to make the US a “normal” country and which weakens the Empire is in the interests of the people of the USA.

Voting for either one of the candidates this fall will only prolong the agony of the current political regime in the USA

  2. A normal black.

Definitely in the minority. He can say things a White Sheriff can’t dare say.

  3. I believe the practice has been outlawed, but some Illinois sheriffs used to issue special deputy badges that enabled the well connected to carry a firearm back in the days before this state started issuing concealed carry permits.

  4. The secret deputy was a great idea.

Analogous to the effect concealed-carriers probably have on violent crimes against persons.

  5. It used to be that we flew our flags to celebrate the pride of nations and states.

Now we fly them to celebrate someone’s sex life.

  6. Today’s identity politics for those who are desperate for an identity when they love neither God nor country.

  7. Cal, glad to see that you finally posted the story
I provided a link to LAST WEEK.

    Your welcome.
