More Charges Against Killer of McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Keltner

From the FBI:

Additional Federal Charges Filed Against Springfield Man in Connection With Killing of Special Deputy U.S. Marshal Jacob Keltner

ROCKFORD — A superseding indictment returned today by a federal grand jury in Rockford adds new charges against FLOYD E. BROWN in connection with the killing of Special Deputy U.S. Marshal Jacob Keltner.

Brown, 41, of Springfield, was originally charged with one count of killing a federal law enforcement officer and two counts of illegal firearm possession.

Special Deputy Keltner was fatally wounded on March 7, 2019, in Rockford.

He served as a McHenry County Sheriff’s deputy and was a sworn member of the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.

The superseding indictment returned today renews the three prior counts and adds several new charges in connection with the killing of Special Deputy Keltner and other acts allegedly committed by Brown on the day of the murder:

  • one count of attempting to kill a Deputy Marshal and two Special Deputy Marshals;
  • one count of using a deadly and dangerous weapon to forcibly assault Special Deputy Keltner;
  • one count of using a deadly and dangerous weapon to forcibly assault a Deputy Marshal and two Special Deputy Marshals;
  • one count of discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, causing the death of Special Deputy Keltner; and
  • one count of discharging a firearm during the assault and attempted murder of the Deputy Marshal and two Special Deputy Marshals.

An arraignment date in federal court in Rockford has not yet been scheduled.

The superseding indictment was announced by John R. Lausch, Jr., United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, and Emmerson Buie, Jr., Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago office of the FBI.  Several agencies have assisted in the investigation, including the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Rockford Police Department, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, Bloomington Police Department, Lincoln Police Department, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, and Illinois State Police.  The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Talia Bucci and Scott Paccagnini.

The public is reminded that a superseding indictment contains only charges and is not evidence of guilt.  The defendant is presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial at which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

The counts pertaining to the killing of Special Deputy Keltner carry a maximum sentence of life imprisonment or death.  If convicted, the Court must impose a reasonable sentence under federal sentencing statutes and the advisory U.S. Sentencing Guidelines.

  1. Kelley has been a township flunkey and leech for 25 years.

    What a bum.

    How much taxpayer $$$$ can Kelly grab with his weblike claws?

  2. This was a botched operation run by U.S. Marshal Service which
    resulted in a McHenry County Deputy losing his life which was then covered up
    to protect the incompetents involved.

  3. The real shame here is that Brown won’t be Defended by Patty O’Kenneally as he’d be guaranteed to be convicted and O’Kenneally would be lucky not to be jailed with him.

  4. Kenneally won’t show up at any GOP fundraisers or he’ll get booed. It would be funny to see him try, but he won’t because he is scared of being heckled and booed.

    Democrats didn’t even run anybody against him? Want to know why? Here is my opinion:

    Because with Kenneally in office, Franks has nothing to worry about at the local level (he still has to worry about the FBI and state police though). Kenneally is soft on public officials. This is well documented.

    Redistricting and downsizing of the county board will happen sometime in the next two years.

    Franks will likely use some ad hoc committee for that.

    By 2022, Dems will take over the board and Kenneally will still have his six figure job until 2024. Dems could have tried to get a majority this year, but they aren’t even running enough people — that too may be part of some horse trade, or it could just be because Democrats would rather have a Republican majority so that Franks and they have a boogeyman to run against in 2022.

    (No primary opponent against Kenneally? No primary opponent against Reick? Some Republicans defend this by insisting they aren’t corrupt but actually just stupid and lazy. Does that make you feel better?)

    Why have all the feminists and progressives who hated Franks and Kenneally not long ago gotten so quiet about Franks and Kenneally lately?

    Kenneally is useful for Franks, Franks is useful for Democrats, Democrats are useful for the powers that be. These leftoids don’t like either of them, they are just useful for them to gain power.

    Franks knows how to seize power.

    Once he helps Dems get power, they will have no use for him.

    Kenneally will be of no use either.

    Franks and Kenneally will be discarded, possibly in ways they will not like.

    It’s obvious.

    I have written elsewhere about how cultural Marxist groups from Chicago already have their tentacles in McHenry County.

    I believe it is called the McHenry County Community Foundation which is part of the Chicago Community Trust.

    One of the guys in charge of the McHenry County Community Foundation has the same last name as one of the young Black Lives Matter organizers in Crystal Lake and he is a finance guy.

    This Chicago Community Trust is obsessed with racial wealth disparity, but they are ironically made up of banking and finance people, just like the McHenry County one.

    They also never mention the disparity between Jews and blacks, only whites and other minorities.

    The point of cultural Marxism, unlike traditional Marxism, is to focus on uniting various “oppressed” cultural groups as opposed to class struggle.

    There are a lot of wealthy Jewish business people behind the scenes in Black Lives Matter and it’s really not as grassroots as you’d like to think.

    Look at what’s happening in all the collar counties.

    McHenry County is the only one that hasn’t really fallen yet, and it will very soon.

    Democrats are puppets of cultural Marxists who themselves are puppets to oligarchs.

    Woke Capital is controlling everything from the top.

    Big Tech, Big Pharma, Big Banks, Big Insurance, Big Food.

    These entities have a revolving door with the government; they engage in regulatory capture; they secure government contracts.

    Layers of duping and people using others as pawns.

    Big biz and big gov want to rule you with an iron fist.

    Why do you think they’re not talking about trillions of dollars being wasted, or wars, or how to make healthcare affordable, but they love to talk about literal window dressings like flying a rainbow flag or changing syrup packaging?

    They want a surveillance state where you are totally dependent on big biz and big gov.

    Eat your mcbugburger and take your mcprozac and try not to rock the boat or you’ll be put in jail for wrongthink.

    Big biz and big gov need each other.

    They are a symbiotic parasite on us.

    They operate through theft: theft of land, theft of wages, theft of your liberties, theft of your happiness, theft of your time, theft of your self-sufficiency, theft of your human potential, etc.

    Now big biz and big gov want even more power consolidated, and they are using “cultural revolutionaries” as their foot soldiers, and those people are using others as their foot soldiers.

    CNN and Microsoft and Google and McDonalds and representatives in the government want to “tear the system down”?

    Does that make sense to you? No, of course it doesn’t make sense.

    You’re all being had BIG TIME.

    But these are just my opinions…

  5. Well told Correcting on!

    Patty O’Kenneally has my nomination for McHenry County T.U.R.D.* of The Year.

    * Tough Unrelenting Republican Democrat
