Crystal Lake Grade School District 47 held a Soecuak Board Meeting on July 7th which appears not to have turned out too well.

We apologize to those who experienced audio issues while tuning in virtually to the special board meeting on July 7th.
To accommodate the large number of people interested in attending the meeting virtually via Zoom, we added a second meeting link on very short notice which didn’t sync with our sound system.
Moving forward, we intend to expand our Zoom capability to allow for a single audio feed to improve sound quality.
We realize many of our staff and families are anxiously awaiting decisions about the return to school and we want to encourage anyone interested in hearing the discussion at the board meeting on July 20th to be able to do so.
Last night’s board meeting was not recorded as it was an in-person meeting held at Hannah Beardsley.
Once meeting minutes are approved at the July 20th board meeting, they will be posted for viewing under the Board of Ed tab on the District 47 website.

I did attend via zoom.
The audio was ridiculous.
They really don’t have their crap together and I was embarrassed for them.
There were several ridiculous and uneducated statements but the main issue to me came from the legal counsel who said he interpreted the 6 foot rule as just guidance and not necessary in classrooms, ok, however the room was sparcley populated and audience was 6 feet apart. I’m pro school opening however the politicians and school board members clearly were well distanced.
If they hold this position shouldn’t they lead by example By using the same reccomendation they are asking teachers to adhere to.
Next meeting should have the same rules apply as the classroom.
Same for Pritzker and any other groups pressuring teachers and classrooms.
What I did not see addressed was the lack of air conditioning in several classrooms and impact of wearing a mask in same.
Will be fun to watch these local politicians twist like pretzels now that they have stirred up all this fear on Their selective use of science to match the realities that our kids need to get back to school so the taxpayer can get back to work.
They need to demonstrate leadership and solidarity with the teachers by following the same safety protocols They are asking for the teachers or clearly explain why they are different than what they are enforcing at church, Walmart Board meetings etc…
grab the popcorn watch the fireworks caused by all the fear porn.
Bottom line, close the schools, give a voucher, let the charters and private schools show them how to do this.

Just like when on July 2nd the circuit court ordered ALL of the nonsense put forth by the governor to be ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL and NULL and VOID no one did anything different than adjust their deadly ritual masks and go about their zombie parade. There is no enforcement of any of these measures. They need to cease and desist with this charade. Of course, that isn’t going to happen at all. We submitted the petition to the secretary of The Board of Education today with 329 signatures (electronic and paper) gathered in 8 days.
One Board member told me that he didn’t care how many people signed the petition. He is “there for the safety of the children.”
I reiterated that we are all in favor of the safety of children.
D47 Board is meeting Monday, July 20, 2020, 7 p.m. at Hannah Beardsley MS. Because only 50 people are allowed in the room, others must join via a Zoom signup.
If you only sign up for the Zoom meeting, your voice won’t be heard.
It is better to send a short message to the Board on their website which will be read by Pres. Rob Fetzner.
When we get the information about how to do that, we will send the information.
