Enhanced Enforcement by Algonquin Police

Algonquin releases Fourth of July enforcement numbers

(Algonquin, Illinois) – The Algonquin Police Department made one impaired driving arrest and issued

-29 seat belt citations,

-one child safety seat citation,

-32 speeding citations,

-4 distracted driving citations and

-4 misdemeanor/felony arrests

during the recent Fourth of July “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” safety campaigns.

Algonquin Police joined forces with more than 200 other state and local law enforcement agencies to get drunk and drugged drivers off our roads and encourage seat belt use.

The effort featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities including a media campaign.

The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” programs.
