McHenry Police Investigate Vehicle vs Pedestrian Crash

On July 11th, 2020 at approximately 9:20 P.M. officers of the McHenry Police Department responded to the 800 Block of N. Front Street (IL Route 31) for a reported crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Upon arrival officers confirmed a collision occurred between a gold 2003 Chevrolet S-10 pickup and a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation determined the vehicle had been travelling north on Front Street when it struck the pedestrian in the roadway.

A witness reported the pedestrian, a 33 year old male from McHenry, was walking east and attempted to cross Front Street when they were struck by the vehicle.

McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to Northwestern Medicine McHenry.

The pedestrian was then flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment of their injuries, which were not life threatening.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and did not report any injuries.

There were no passengers in the vehicle.

Members of the McHenry County Regional Major Crash Investigation Team are continuing to investigate this incident.

The team consists of officers from the McHenry Police Department, Johnsburg Police Department, Spring Grove Police Department, Harvard Police Department, Woodstock Police Department and Cary Police Department.

Front Street between John Street and Grove Avenue was closed to traffic for approximately three hours to allow the crash team to conduct the investigation.

  1. Why’d he get flown to Condell for minor injuries and not ambulances to NW Centegra?

    Something’s not right here?

  2. Pedestrian was a drug addled. Section 8 black……that’s why he got VIP treatment.
