Party Line on Madigan Emerges

First it was Governor JB Pritker saying that Madigan should step down if what is contained in the ComEd criminal agreement is true.

Now a Democratic Party State Rep. from Libertyville, Mary Ellen-Allen, echoes the Governor:

So, if Mike Madigan is convicted of wrong-doing, he should step down.

How bold.

Rich Miller of Capitol Fax got these similar reactions:

“These allegations are very serious and we must be consistent in our efforts to respect the public trust that is given to us by our residents and the people of Illinois,” Rep. Stephanie Kifowit, D-Oswego, told me. “If the allegations are true, then he must be held to the same standard we have held other former elected officials in our chamber and resign.”

“The conduct alleged is outrageous, and comes at the end of a long chain of unacceptable breaches of the public trust not unlike the pattern of ‘lather, rinse, repeat I referenced a few years ago in discussing the allegations of sexual harassment in his office,” said Rep. Kelly Cassidy, D-Chicago, about Madigan. “I agree with the Governor. If any of these allegations are true and Speaker Madigan or those closest to him are involved, then he must resign.”

Found in the same article is that the twelve-member House Progressive Caucus

  • Carol Ammons, Caucus Co-Chair
  • Will Guzzardi, Caucus Co-Chair
  • Theresa Mah, Caucus Co-Chair
  • Delia Ramirez, Caucus Secretary
  • Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz, Caucus Treasurer
  • Kelly Cassidy
  • Robyn Gabel
  • Lindsey LaPointe
  • Anna Moeller
  • Anne Stava-Murray
  • Ann Williams [LITH Sanitary District attorney]
  • Yoni Pizer

agreed to this:

If these allegations are true, Speaker Madigan and any other elected official involved in this scheme must resign from public service.

  1. Absolutely, out of respect for the people, Madigan needs to step down.

  2. Progressives, BLM, Antifa, Fatty Pritzk, bugeyed lesbian of Chiraq, and Transgenders want the old crooked bastard out.

But Madigan will have the last laugh!

  3. Not in a million years will Madigan fry …… until White Nationalists take over.

  4. Just want to point out that Mary Edly-Allen is the woman who narrowly won in 2018 against JOE WALSH’S WIFE because the very politically intelligent and strategic Mark Shaw, Chairman of the Lake County Republican Party, decided to appoint JOE WALSH’S WIFE.

It was almost like Mark Shaw went out of his way to pick one of the only people who could have possibly LOST that race, and then she lost.

Cal, her comment is even less straight forward than Pritzker’s because it starts out with saying the public trust has been eroded and she’s against the status quo, but then there’s a bait and switch “if… true” at the end.

At least Pritzker just pussed out from the beginning.

Edly-Allen started out strong and then did a 180.

  5. Joe Walsh has lost it mentally. That’s what happens when you marry a Yenta. Ask Rauner about it.

  6. I wouldn’t be so sure this isn’t the end of Madigan.

Even if he doesn’t go to jail the progressives would probably love to take him out.

Instead of a Democrat party dominated by one man, we will end up with a bunch of far lefties running the state.

  7. Counting Madigan out has never worked out before.

    And won’t now.

  8. Let me just say MAE if this crap is so deep its going to take forever to clean up this swamp.

But just so you know if ever the common business man did this they would be FIRED ON THE SPOT !

    no pension

No have a nice life… yet this chit just goes on and on and on … like a mob story on TV … you watch…

  9. According to Wikipedia:

“Mary Edly-Allen is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 51st district. The district, located in Lake County, includes all or parts Deer Park, Forest Lake, Green Oaks, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Lake Barrington, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Long Grove, Mundelein and North Barrington”

  10. THANK YOU MARY EDLY-ALLEN!

It’s time for people from all political parties to unite on this issue.

    Madigan must step down immediately.

  11. None of the Dems quoted called for Madigan to step down “immediately.”

That is the point of the post.

  12. “Although he is entitled to due process, elected officials are held to a higher standard”

This statement makes it clear that they do not need for this to play out in court and they don’t need to wait for a conviction.

“Although he is entitled to dude process…” should have tipped you off to what the statement says and what it doesn’t say.

If your point is none of the Dems called for him to step down, you could have just…… said that????
