Acosta Says Franks Supports Closing Illegal Alien Detention Floor of McHenry County Jail

From McHenry County Board member Carlos Acosta’s Facebook page:

How does a County Board member “file a resolution?”

I’m sure some besides Democrats would like to know.

Acosta Says Franks Supports Closing Illegal Alien Detention Floor of McHenry County Jail — 16 Comments

  1. Cassie Buchman of the Northwest Herald says the issue is supposed to go before the whole board.

I believe that meeting is on the 18th.

I’m still curious whether the finance committee will pick the issue up too.
Seeing how Skala (the chairman of the finance committee) did not take sides in the Franks vs Theresi mailer issue like most of the partisan officials did and seeing that it’s already supposed to be on county board’s agenda, it might NOT go to the finance committee despite that being brought up at the law and government meeting.

Buchman also reported that Jack Franks supports the resolution in this article.

“Franks, whose grandfather is an immigrant, said he is for the ending of the contract…”

That’s the print edition from 7/29/2020, however, the e-version is slightly different:

“Franks, whose grandfather was an undocumented immigrant who arrived in the country illegally, said he is for the ending of the contract…”

On the ICE contract and revenue, Franks “added that there are other ways to the county could make up the revenue.”

These quotes are from Buchman’s NW Herald article in the link.

There is no doubt anymore that Franks supports cancelling the contract with ICE.

Vijuk, Wegener, Franks, and Acosta all support the resolution to cancel the contract.

I haven’t listened to all of the audio, but you made it sound like Yensen is also in favor of the resolution.

So the only Democrat we’re not sure about is Ness.

On the other hand, all of the Republicans who have spoken about this issue or voted have indicated that they oppose cancelling the ICE contract.

  2. Every time I see a pic of Carlos Acosta my stomach turns.

I think of AJ Freund and his bruises that Acosta reviewed.

What kind of idiot couldn’t determine that those bruises were putting AJ in jeopardy of his life?

Don’t worry about ICE, Acosta, don’t ruin anyone else’s life, you’re lucky to still be on the Board!

Just do the right thing and resign!

  3. How about we start a nice little protest march to deport this man?

  4. Maybe Acosta wants to make sure ICE is gone before HE goes to jail and gets deported for the way he treated AJ, and Franks supports it so we don’t send him to the same South Pacific leper colony Madigan is going to.

    Hey…I can dream, can’t I?

  5. Acosta, Franks, Kenneally…….

Pretty much sums up what’s wrong with McHenry County government.

Throw in Sagar and other local government and township politicians and you’ve got a lot of turds in the toilet.

  6. Yensen spoke in favor of ending the ICE contract during the Public Comment part of the Law and Government/Liquor Committee.

  7. If they love the illegals so much, why don’t they invite some to live in their homes?

    Sure that will happen

  8. What is right is that Carlos Acosta spends the rest of his life behind bars.

He should get the electric chair.

  9. Over the last couple of years, reckless and irresponsible Democrats of prominence have called for the abolishment of ICE.

Among them are NY Mayor Deblasio, NY Senator Christin Gilibrand, Senator Elizabeth Warren and NY US Rep AOC Cortez.

There have been some local politicians who have been equally reckless in calling for cancelling of ICE operations in our County.

Patriotic Americans know that ICE and its operations are vital to the security of our Nation and therefore should vote out all Democrats who have asked for the abolishment of ICE and/or have tried to impede its operations.

    From ICE website:

“ICE’S mission is to protect America from the cross-border crime and illegal immigration that threaten national security and public safety.

This mission is executed through the enforcement of more than 400 federal statutes and focuses on smart immigration enforcement, preventing terrorism and combating the illegal movement of people and goods.

    Immigration Enforcement

Securing our nation’s borders and safeguarding the integrity of our immigration system is a primary focus of ICE officers and agents throughout the country. Immigration enforcement is the largest single area of responsibility for ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations) and is a critical component of the overall safety, security, and well-being of our nation.”

  10. I wonder if they feel comfortable about the lost income.

Wonder if they’re eying Valley Hi cash?

  11. Doesn’t Carlos Acosta have more DCFS child abuse cases to neglect?

Does he really have time to brag about Jack Franks’ giving immigration laws the finger for his precious illegal aliens..?

  12. Guess Union Law Enforcement folks of McHenry County should quit voting Democratic.

They’re going to eliminate your jobs with this move, the first of theirs as part of “Defund the Police” movement which all Dems, especially the likes of Franks, Acosta, Underwood, ilk are now in favor of.

Suckers voting Democratic expecting they’re going to watch out for you.

No they’re not, they’re now beholden to the Mob, which you arent part of.

    Wake up.

Police and Law Enforcement arent popular with Democrats.

It aint cool to be down for the Po-Po in the Dem ranks anymore.

  13. Franks’ Grandfather came to the US in the 1910s … hardly a holocaust survivor.

  14. Carlos “Chuy-Phooey” Acosta represents in his very person,, everything that is wrong with this country.

He brags about the ‘gringo boy’ ‘who got kilt (sic)’ under ‘my watch’.

Let’s prevent him from enabling more deaths.
