Unoccupied Home Burns in Algonquin

From the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District:

Residential Structure Fire- Applewood Lane

On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at 10:23 p.m. the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire at 910 Applewood Lane, in Algonquin.

First arriving fire crews arrived on the scene at 10:27 p.m. and found a two story single family home, with heavy fire coming from the rear exterior of the home

Crews initiated an aggressive attack and the fire was under control at 10:42 p

Firefighters were informed by neighbors that the house was unoccupied and under renovatio

No firefighters or civilians were injured.

The Algonquin – Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was aided by the Algonquin Police Department, Cary Fire Protection District, Huntley Fire Protection District, Crystal Lake Fire Department, and Fox River Grove Fire Protection District.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. A damage estimate is not yet available
