Man Arrested For Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Nathaniel Kozlowski, 30, after he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle.
At approximately 6:12 p.m., on August 4, 2020, Deputies observed a 2003 Lincoln Navigator traveling northbound on Johnsburg Road.
Deputies learned the vehicle was stolen and attempted to stop it, but the driver refused to comply.
The Deputies pursued the vehicle into Lake County where it crashed after trying to drive down the railroad tracks from Grand Avenue in Fox Lake.
Contact was made with the driver, Kozlowski, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Kozlowski refused to exit the vehicle when instructed and had to be removed from it by Deputies and was taken into custody.
No one was injured during the pursuit, but after his arrest Kozlowski disclosed to the Deputies that he had swallowed an unknown amount of a substance he claimed illicit narcotics.
Kozlowski was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Hospital in McHenry.
After being cleared from the hospital he was transported to the jail and charged with two counts of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Reckless Driving, Driving on a Revoked Driver’s License.
The investigation is on-going and additional charges may be forthcoming.
The charges against this individual are merely allegations against him. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
