  1. Can’t wait for Friday when he has been ordered to appear in court to answer for all his illegal orders. Let’s all pray he is jailed like they are threatening to do to him. Willful disregard bologna. The pig is a stupid tyrant that is trying to incarcerate you while he does whatever he deems pleasing for his inflated self. His fine will eventually be the Lake of Fire.

  2. Kind of crazy. A sitting governor has been summoned to court for a show cause hearing because he is ignoring a valid court order and the media pretty much ignores it.

For those who don’t know, the purpose of such a hearing is for the respondent to explain to the judge why they shouldn’t be in jail for contempt.

Go figure, next week Illinois might have yet another governor in jail.

Of course he will be let out when he stops issuing illegal orders but it’s still so like Illinois.

  3. “On the same day that the governor asked the General Assembly to do more to keep Illinoisans safe, the House GOP is instead rejecting science and perpetuating a sideshow to this global pandemic,” a spokesperson for Pritzker said in a statement Friday.

What spin from the NBC coverage.

The house GOP has zero control over what the GA does, that’s all on Madigan.

I’m sorry, but if you are one of those people who support the governor’s policies, you should at least be disappointed with the democrats for what is going on not the Republicans.

The law is actually pretty clear about the 30 days and JB knows it.

What actually happened is that Madigan and those in charge of the GA didn’t want to take political responsibility for the situation so they went home.

They pretty much left jb out to dry.

Then when they came back for the short session, they failed to address the problem at that time as well.

This lawsuit was ongoing at that time and was well known.

The democrats could have passed any laws they wanted in order to legitimize JB’s policy but they didn’t.

They crammed through mailing ballot applications over the objections of the GOP.

This lawsuit could have been made a non issue months ago by the democrats, so don’t blame Bailey or anyone else for insisting that jb follow the law.

Laws should be followed, there is a way to change them if needed.

There was every opportunity to do so the last time the GA met.

  4. That article kind of gets at the real problem.

If you give everyone the benefit of the doubt, that everyone is acting in good faith on both sides, I don’t think the results would be very different.

The problem lies with who has incentive to act in certain ways.

It’s not anyone’s fault really, it’s just the way things worked out.

For example, if you are a governor, there is a strong political incentive to take strong action and say that you are protecting people.

It sounds good on TV. If that causes problems, well that’s just an opportunity to provide your solution and be the good guy.

    The media has incentives too.

Panic porn gets clicks and advertising money.

Stories about things getting better don’t.

    Republicans too have incentives.

Because the democrats are acting so strongly one way, the reaction has been to go the extreme opposite, think the no mask people.

All of these incentives to do the wrong things exist even without Trump.

I purposely left him out of it.

If the above hurts your political opponents, that is simply a bonus.

  5. Public health officials also have the wrong incentives.

In a few years, people are not likely to complain if they overreact but people are ok.

It would very different if they said it wasn’t a big deal, then a million people died.

They also suffer from none of the political consequences of the lockdown as they are not elected.

  6. How qualified are these health officials?

Don’t some specialize in other areas not related to COVID-19? 🤧😷🤒☠️
