One Dies in Accident Near at Pyott and Randall Roads, Car on Wrong Side of the Road

Crystal Lake Police Investigate Fatal Traffic Crash

Crystal Lake, IL – At approximately 1:51 pm, the Crystal Lake Police Department responded to Rakow Road, east of Pyott Road for a report of an accident with injuries.

Once on scene officers located five vehicles involved in the incident, with several people injured.

Crystal Lake Fire Rescue responded and provided emergency medical care to the victims.

Three adult victims were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries for further treatment.

Two additional adult victims were released from care at the scene.

The initial investigation determined a 2019 Honda CR-V was travelling westbound on Rakow Road, from Munshaw Lane, in the eastbound [wrong] lanes of Rakow Road.

As a result, the 2019 Honda CR-V subsequently struck a 2004 Honda CR-V EX as well as a 2012 Ford Fusion, who were travelling eastbound on Rakow Road.

The 2019 Honda CR-V continued westbound in the eastbound lanes colliding head on with a 2017 Buick Enclave and subsequently causing another collision with a 2011 Nissan Versa.

The Buick and Nissan were both travelling eastbound on Rakow Road as well

The adult driver and sole occupant of the 2019 Honda CR-V was pronounced deceased on scene.

Portions of Rakow Road were closed for a short time while accident investigators were on scene.

The roadway has since been reopened.

We are in the early stages of this investigation. At this time, we have no further information to provide. As more information becomes available we
will provide an update.

  1. Min speed required to “keep up with traffic” on any part of Rakow road—70 mph…minimum.

  2. Stupidcide by texting/blabbing seems more likely judging from my
    own daily experience observing all the women who just can’t leave the f’ing phone
    alone for more than a few minutes, if that.

    And it’s done in front of cops who seem to be blissfully
    unaware of all that goes on around them.

  3. This suicide ended someone else’s innocent life with his stupid way out. How much more of this do you want to endure? Insanity is rampant.
