From a Friend of McHenry County Blog comes this notice from the Woodstock Recreation Department advertising for District 200 school kids who otherwise would be in school:

Kids Not Safe in Schools, But Other Locations OK — 19 Comments

  1. Just more evidence that our children’s health is not the main concern.

Why would it be, the number of deaths in children under 15 is still in double digits.

More people under 15 have died from the flu since the pandemic started.

We should at least thank the school district for being so transparent and honest regarding thier priorities.

We should now shift our priorities away from funding this joke of an education / indoctrination system.

  2. It has become abundantly clear during this epic crisis America will need to rethink what Public School looks like.

Until such time as this happens all teachers and administrators should be furloughed with the understanding once the unemployment runs out these “educators” will not be coming back to public school work.

All schools should be evaluated for value vs cost to upgrade.

Those should be improved and sold or sold outright.

Any Public Funds collected should follow the student to whatever form of school these students choose since our current public schools have abdicated their education mandate.

The experienced teachers will be able to find jobs readily available in a safe environment provided by entities able to figure this out since the public school environ cannot.

  3. We should also be thinking about removing these people from our school boards.

While I would love to just get rid of the whole system, that seems like a bit much to start with.

We should be recruiting people who actually care about our children to run against the sitting board members, they are elected at least in my district.

I think it would really get the message across if next year we just vote out the entire school board.

  4. If McHenry County schools are not opening who is babysitting and feeding the children of the illegal Mexican for gratis?

  5. So nothing like having parents paying more money to have their kids go to school!

If you need remote learning please give the Woodstock Recreation Dept. that is owned/run by the city/taxpayers!

You can’t make this stuff up!

All you parents out there need to start thinking about your vote this election and future elections!

  6. This singing of praise to Barak Hussein Obama by children had occurred in many schools in 2009.

What next if in a nightmare scenario that dufus dementia Joe Biden wins in November? Will children be required to sing praises to his vp and he?

  7. Let’s “reimagine” public school systems – fire all teachers and privatize.

The longer we wait, the deeper we sink.

  8. Just follow Gary, Indiana’s lead, where they allow schools to decay from no maintenance and management companies. 🤔😮

  9. Another expense for taxpayers: COVID-19 relief law entitles parents to (is it 16 weeks?

Paind leave if schools refuse to reopen onsite classes.

  10. There are many reasons that kids aren’t safe in schools, including shop class (long gone), burns in cooking class (long gone), monkey bars, sports injuries, fights, bullies, knives, guns, gangs, drugs, pedos and more.

Of course, some of these reasons vary by school and district. 😮

  11. PLEASE NOTE:

The students will be left with 2 aides, NOT TEACHERS!

  12. Tape Worm is to human intestines as

Teachers’ Union is to body politic.

  13. Actually using aids should be something we could do to make older teachers feel safer.

What would be wrong with a teacher on a big screen teaching a lesson, kids all in the classroom and a couple of younger proctors to help?

That seems somewhat reasonable and would have the kids in a school environment instead of being distracted at home.

Problem is, the teachers don’t want solutions.

They want to make a political statement while getting paid to stay home.

  14. So people are paying an outrageous $$ in their property tax bill to fund their kids schools and education and now have to PAY again for this ridiculous scam?

Fire the teachers that refuse to work!

  15. This is setup in lieu of daycare for parents that are at work and can’t supervise remote learning.

Luckily, my wife can work from home during this.

As for teachers, at least in d200, they are working normal days teaching “normally” via Google meets.

    This is nothing like spring.

My kid’s teacher is at school in her classroom.

No reason to lay off teachers.
