Madigan Money Blatantly Visible in Democrat Martha Paschke’s Challenge to Republican State Rep. Dan Ugaste

State Rep. Dan Ugaste has Democrat Martha Paschke running against him.

Paschke started July with $44,795.86 in the bank.

Looking at her expenditures in the second quarter of the year, one fines that her printer is the same one involved in the Illinois Integrity Fund hit pieces sent out against County Clerk Joe Tirio and various Republican Count Board candidates in 2018.

Her largest contribution from March through June was $2,500 from SEIU HealthCare IL IN PAC.

So, what is going on in Ugaste’s district.?

A good clue is the report that Chicago political operative Satchel Londino-Green was assigned by House Speaker Mike Madigan to help Paschke last December. In February, two more–Jon Maxson and Chritsopher Keller, both of Springfield–joined the fray.

During the last three months of 2019, Paschke managed to raise $7,320 from individuals.

Added to the $3,375 left over from the previous quarter, she started out the new year with $10,695.

Her largest contribution was from Madigan’s close associate Rep. Greg Harris. It was for $25,000.

$2,500 in labor union money came from LIUNA Chicago Laborer’s District Council Political Action Committee.

The infusion of money continued after January 1st to accomplish Madigan’s goal of Paschke’s defeating Kane County Board member Mohammad “Mo” Iqbal in the primary election, which she did.

$228,733.06 gushed into Paschke’s Political Action Committee as the March primary election approached.

Let’s take a look the sources:

$38,500 more from Rep. Harris’ campaign fund for “telephoning” from a San Francisco firm called Tulchin Research.

$40,307.95 in lumps of $25,000 and $15,000 for postage from Mike Madigan’s Democratic Majority PAC.

The pro-abortion Personal PAC made a mailing costing $7,650.40,

And M.M. LaFleur, Inc, Howard, of New York City kicked in $1,373.48 for clothing to be worn during the campaign.

The above were contributions in-kind, not cash.

Paschke’s campaign was given $130,580 in cash.

Labor unions were large contributors:

  • $30,000 – Illinois Federation of Teachers COPE
  • $7,000 – LIUNA Chicago Laborers’ District Council Political Action Committee
  • $2,000 – UFCW Local 881 Political Action Committee
  • $1,000 – AFSCME Illinois Council No. 31 Political Action Committee

But the most money came from Democratic Party State Representatives:

  • $50,000 – Friends of Natalie Manley (Joliet)
  • $25,000 – Friends To Elect Kathleen Willis (Addison)
  • $10,000 – Friends of Michelle Mussman (Schaumburg)

Money also came in from the following PACs:

  • $1,000 – Illinois Trial Lawyers Association Political Action Committee
  • $1,000 – Gun Violence Prevention PAC, Arlington Heights

Private individuals also provided a small percentage of Paschke’s campaign cash:

  • $1,000 – Howard Strong, Geneva
  • $880 – Wilma Von Arragon, Batavi
  • $500 – Thomson Weir, LLC, Springfield
  • $500 – Kim Wilson, Geneva
  • $200 – Robert Lindah, Batavia

Madigan’s State Central Committee made three mailings for Paschke since July 1st. The cost was $47,514.91.

Additionally, Springler Fitters of Alsip gave $2,000.
