Friday morning’s Daily Herald article concerning Antioch resident Kyle Rittenhouse titled “Guns were turned in after Kenosha shooting, but Antioch police won’t say who owned them” by Elena Ferrarin, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood, whose 14th district includes Antioch, stated the following while calling for a “complete and transparent investigation”:

“That a 17-year-old from our community would have an assault weapon, travel to Kenosha, and allegedly commit grave violence toward protesters is an unspeakably horrific symptom of the toxic hate and division that permeate our country right now.

“This instance is painfully close to home, and it is not reflective of the values we hold dear in northern Illinois: that weapons of war, racism, and hate have no place in our communities, and we should never seek to solve problems through violence.”

Congresswoman Lauren Underwood, Daily Herald 8/28/20
.

Underwood also went on to call for the U.S. Senate to pass the Justice in Policing Act (H.R. 7120), which she mistakenly and deceptively calls “a bipartisan bill”.

Here’s what Underwood didn’t tell the Herald or include in her Thursday press release but was published in full on McHenry County Blog back in June when the Democrats in the House not only passed their partisan-approved (3 Republicans voting for the bill is not bipartisan support) H.R. 7120, Democrats in the Senate filibustered the common sense approach sponsored by Senator Tim Scott (R, SC) S. 3985.

But Underwood’s press release did include the following:

“We must have a complete and transparent investigation into Tuesday night’s events and  justice must be served. In the meantime, I hold Jacob Blake and the victims of last night’s shooting in my heart and I am as committed as ever before to working to heal our divided country, prevent gun violence, and push the Senate to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.”

So with the latest violence caused and started by the Black Lives Matter protesters, Underwood again has no condemnation against the rioters who were violating curfew in what no sane person would call “peaceful protests”. All should be concerned with any loss of life, and nice to see Underwood applying “All Lives Matter” with loss of life of two white men.

Oberweis’ full statement on Kenosha was posted on McHenry County Blog on Thursday, and included the following quoted in the Herald article.

“What we are seeing in Kenosha is people who do not even live there coming into that community for the express purpose of destroying property and hurting people.

“Sadly, many of these agitators are coming from Illinois.”

Jim Oberweis statement on 8/27 and Daily Herald 8/28
.

Oberweis, who made very clear in his statement Kyle Rittenhouse shouldn’t have been in Kenosha on the streets last Tuesday night, has said he’s ready to have a conversation on race relations.

All of that said, Oberweis clearly, again, condemns all of the violence caused by what is clearly not “peaceful protests”. And in the case of Kenosha Tuesday night, were illegal gatherings, in the dark of night caused by people who committed violence and were armed, including the man shot by Rittenhouse who survived, as video clearly shows him armed with a handgun.

In one of McHenry County Blog‘s most commented articles (135 12:30PM 8/31/20) from last Thursday morning, Rittenhouse has emerged as a poster child to fight back against the rioting and violence caused by agitators infiltrating/hijacking the Black Lives Matter protests including ANTIFA.

On Friday, Rittenhouse’s legal teams issued a lengthy statement, as many commenters noted, including in The Gateway Pundit:

A legal defense/support fund has been set up for Rittenhouse through #Fightback Foundation, Inc.

IL-14: Jim Oberweis Bests Lauren Underwood as She Plays Politics with Kenosha Shootings as Kyle Rittenhouse Awaits Extradition to Face Charges — 40 Comments

  1. Underwood talks about Rittenhouse being racist after shooting white people… I’ll have whatever she’s smoking, clearly is floating in a self suspended reality.

  2. Underwood doesn’t want for people to fight back against her lies of “systemic racism” and all of that nonsense.

Democrats: “Defund the police. Give us your guns!”
Also Democrats: “Don’t send the police in to stop domestic terrorists from destroying your homes and businesses!”

At what point will there be no choice but to fight back? She’ll condemn it either way, citing anyone who fights back as “a racist” or some other such dishonest claim.

  3. FAKE NURSE Underwood is a well documented liar and deceiver, but that won’t deter
the useful idiots like Little Eddie from voting for her. 😄

  4. The nurse and the midget Chicago mayor are doing zero to solve the real issues.

#1, If the Blake guy would have not fought with police none of it would have happened.

#2, George Floyd was hopped up on fentanyl, among other intoxicants.

So let’s have a new G. Floyd policing act?

    You can’t fix stupid

  5. She wants a complete and transparent investigation but she’s taking the side of the aggressor/victims. What toxicity does she consume?

  6. Little Abe, I wouldn’t vote for Underwood, but I’m not in her district.

    I don’t support Democrats. ❗ 😝

  7. You’re complaining about Underwood, yet Oberweis threw Rittenhouse under the bus by calling him an agitator.

I mean if you have one person who is pro-blm and another person who condemns people who defend themselves from blm, it doesn’t really make a difference.

Both of these people would watch you get murdered and condemn you for trying to protect yourself.

Both people, Underwood and Oberweis, seem useless.

And Oberweis’s son is getting rich from China. Underwood has connections to Bloomberg and Biden.

I highly doubt either of these candidates care about anything China does.

  8. No, they’re both terrible.

When Rostron wrote something about Oberweis and it brought a tear to his eye, I laughed.

Rittenhouse wasn’t so much an agitator but a catalyst for events that transpired.

  9. Correcting, something refreshing about Oberweis is his consistency as he holds everyone accountable for their actions.

Underwood clearly has not, and up until this past weekend, neither had Joe Biden.

Technically, given the curfew, NO ONE should have been out on the streets of Kenosha last Tuesday night after 8PM.

The shootings took place after 11PM.

Had all, including Rittenhouse, obeyed the curfew, nothing would have happened.

And please note, I said in the article last Thursday, laws were clearly broken while being clear First Degree Murder in the slaying of the two men will be hard to prove given self-defense.

The ownership of the gun, if you take Rittenhouse’s attorney at his word, not being Rittenhouse but a Wisconsin resident and friend of Rittenhouse who loaned him the weapon, and if the “loophole” is true about carrying a long gun is legal for someone as young as 16, well, that’s why we have courts and lawyers.

That must be why Antioch Police and Lake County state’s attorney vague on who owned the weapon(s) turned in to Antioch Police.

We’ll find out sometime next month.

This is going to the courts, and Oberweis, in my opinion, has showed his maturity by consistently holding ALL to account for their actions.

Underwood has clearly not shown the consistency, and consistency, let alone maturity, is something mainstream voters want in their representative in Congress.

That’s why I believe Oberweis has bested and Underwood here.

  10. I’m begging the media to please find a picture of her with a mask on and start using that for your “file” photo.

    Thank you kindly.

  11. Joe Rosenbaum died doing what he loved – chasing a minor.

Even Little Eddie agrees with that – great minds think alike ! 😃

  12. To add to Paul Revere at 1:23 PM.

Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO a few years ago, robbed a convenience store and then later in an encounter with a police officer attacked him and tried to take away his gun. Brown, a huge big tall heavy guy, then disobeyed the police officer and attempted to run at him and harm him.

The officer fired at him in self defense AND, the U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder of President Barak Hussein

But, in the intervening years. far left wing and Democrat stooges and the mostly left wing media still bring up the Brown case, incorrectly, as police violence.

These are despicable people, media and Democrats, never to be trusted.

  13. Wasn’t Brown selling weed at that store?

The clerk covered it up by saying he robbed the place.

    I’mma go look.

  14. Little Abe, it’s time to cleanse your soul of Satan.

ccept Jesus today, before it’s too late. 😮

  15. Michael Brown stole some cigars and mistreated the Desi store owner. ☹️

  16. Talk about “horrific” , “toxic hate” and “racism”…… BLM Underweird is in pure projection!

  17. I’m no longer so sure any of the “Kenosha happenings” are even real. Some of the video really stinks to high heaven. We already know that Blake is not real. No one gets shot at that point-blank range SEVEN times and survives. Could all of this headline junk be about the bread and circuses they feed us for politics? Hmm? Something else to draw lines of division? Just for their chaos of fake arguments over fake politicians? Something is really NOT right.

  18. I still have yet to hear any democrat, including Biden properly condemn the violence.

They are solely paying it lip service because they finally figured out that it polls bad.

If they truly were condemning the violence, they would call out BLM and Antifa for instigating it but they refuse.

  19. Cindy,

He wasn’t shot point blank 7 times.

    He was shot 4 times.

And someone would survive if the officer happened to be trying to hit a non-vital point in order to take out a weapon hand or to prevent him from reaching for one.

In fact, I’m certain that the officer was trying not to kill him if he missed that many times.

  20. Neal, Beetlejuice did condemn the protesters at her lesbian crib. But that’s it.

  21. Oberweis is exactly where he wants to be on this: straddling the fence, as he is on all issues that require a spine…

  22. Why would anyone ride the fence there is a clear line in the sand and it’s time to pick a side?

Mob rule, socialism and violence or freedom and equal opportunity.

Lukewarm is the last thing you want to be in the world we are heading into.

  23. They want to force you to believe that their failures are YOUR fault.

  24. Re: 5:42 PM,

“The officer fired at him in self defense AND, the U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder of President Barak Hussein Obama found that the officer was justified in firing at Brown to protect his (officer’s) life. Strictly for the historical record, Brown and Holder and Obama were of African American ethnicity. The officer was white and not guilty per Eric Holder.

To this day, many in the media lie about or misrepresent the facts about Brown and Ferguson.

The mostly left wing media are race baiters and are obviously intent on fomenting discord among the various races and ethnicities in the U.S. The most important lesson that all parents should teach their children from age 4 and up is that the media should never, ever be trusted.

  25. The protests become peaceful, after the rioters and looters leave, because there’s nothing left to burn and steal and/or less media coverage. 🤔😮

  26. You think these riots are bad?

We all need to be prepared for what WILL happen when Trump wins in November.

  27. It sounds like he’s placing the majority of the blame on Kyle (the accused) though, and his statement is really light on facts and proof.

Furthermore, Kyle is on the side of patriots and antifa and BLM are infiltrated with terrorists.

I agree with Neal’s 7:45 comment about sitting on the fence.

This aint the time for that.

No, I don’t find it refreshing at all that he’s trying to be “neutral” because he shouldn’t be neutral.

One side thinks we’re at war and the other wants to play debate club.

That might not be a good survival strategy…

And he’s not being neutral anyway as I alluded to in my first sentence.

This is just that classic Burgerboy Republican mentality I’ve been speaking about.

Principles about honest debate or civics won’t do you any good when people are trying to murder you.

I’m not sure waiting until rioters show up to YOUR personal door step is actually a good idea either; Kyle is a lot braver than most people in America, including Mr. Oberweis, who just want to grill their hamburgers and watch hockey and think everything is going to go back to normal in like “two more weeks.”

  28. Democrat mayors of cities such as Portland, Seattle, etc and their Democrat governors have proven to be grossly negligent in not providing for the safety of their law abiding citizens and other law abiding Americans who need to go to these cities for business or otherwise. The riots and anarchy in Portland have been ongoing for over 3 months and the mayor there and his governor refuse federal help.

It would appear from history that a U.S. president does not need a request from a city’s mayor and/or governor to bring in US troops and other assets to quell riots and establish law and order. From WIKI:

“In the mid-20th century, the administration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower used an exception to the Posse Comitatus Act, derived from the Enforcement Acts, to send federal troops into Little Rock, Arkansas, during the 1957 school desegregation crisis. The Arkansas governor had opposed desegregation after the United States Supreme Court ruled in 1954 in the Brown v. Board of Education that segregated public schools were unconstitutional. The Enforcement Acts, among other powers, allowed the president to call up military forces when state authorities were either unable or unwilling to suppress violence that was in opposition to the citizens’ constitutional rights.”

Waiting to see how the mostly left wing and corrupt media report on Trump’s visit to Kenosha today.

Is there anything that honest and law abiding citizens can do to hold the media accountable for in many cases “intentional” lies, bias and misrepresentation that they daily spew through tv and radio newscasts and newspapers (hard copy and digital)?

  29. “who just want to grill their hamburgers and watch hockey and think everything is going to go back to normal in like two more weeks.”

Regardless of what happens in November, we are entering a new chapter in our country’s history.

The only question remaining is what side will win.

  30. This all started with police brutality, which should be concerning to all.
