Dr. Tony Evans Teaches on “Kingdom Voting” Beginning Sunday September 6

Tony Evans

How should a Christian vote?

Those who’ve read my writings for the past nearly year and a half know I thoroughly learn from teachings of Dr. Tony Evans, the senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, TX, and president of The Urban Alternative.

Prior to the 2016 election, Dr. Evans, with Focus on the Family, published the book Kingdom Citizen which is a guide of how to implement God’s timeless Scriptures into public policy, including voting.

Starting Sunday, and every Sunday through the the General Election in November, Dr. Evans releases his messages of his series “Kingdom Voting”, which takes much from his Kingdom Citizen teaching. Here’s a preview:

Earlier this year, in the aftermath and within a week of George Floyd’s killing in Minneapolis, Dr. Evans issued challenging responses both here (published June 1) and here (published June 4, 2nd half of article).

After the release of the messages, the videos will remain available on both YouTube and Facebook, but here is the first video cued at to start of message:

Timely input from Above as the fall campaign formally kicks off on Labor Day.

Dr. Tony Evans Teaches on “Kingdom Voting” Beginning Sunday September 6 — 28 Comments

  1. How does The Bible tell someone how to vote, when Bible people were ruled by kings?

Nobody elected Herod, Pontius Pilate, Saul, David, Solomon and others. ☹️

  2. Actually Pilate was elected by the Roman Senate and approved by the Emperor.

  3. Thank you Dacy, I stand corrected. 🙂

When did Jews and Christians of the Bible elect a president or similar? 😐

  4. Dr. Evans,

Please help me understand how people who are born again by profession of faith do not fully incorporate Biblical principles into their life’s and decisions, in respect to life of the unborn, and voting??

How can a Black pastor want to vote for a party just so a Black person -like K. Harris- becomes VP?

In my whiteness I just dont understand!!

  5. “How should a Christian vote?”

    Not blue.

Because Democrats worship race, gender, and sexuality rather than God.

  6. Wesley Goodman (Ohio State Representative, 2016-2017) resigned, when he cheated on his wife with a man. 😮

Aaron Schock (Illinois Congressperson, 2009-2015) later admitted he was gay, when photos came out of him hugging and kissing men. 😮

Both former politicians are Republicans. 😮

  7. Jim Bakker regularly discusses Kingdom Voting, but who is going to believe him with his Silver Sol cures, survival food, PTL Club scandals? 😮

  8. There is no way that a believing Christian can vote for the democrats.

They are fully pushing towards socialism and that is as anti-christian as it gets.

Trying to achieve the perfect utopia is contrary to the Bible because only Jesus can bring that.

So yes the Bible can tell you how to vote when one side is so obviously opposed to Christian teachings.

  9. Can someone tell me if this is on TV and what channel, I have slow internet.

  10. How about IQ tests for voters?

Those below 85 not allowed to vote.

And no felon voters unless there good for 10 years, post parole.

  11. I disagree with MaTrumpion.

    No felon voters, period.

And maybe raise that IQ floor to at least 90.

  12. I’m fine with no felony voters.

Instead of an iq requirement though let’s say that you have to be able to support yourself to vote.

If you are 20 and living with mom and dad still, you are not mentally ready to make such an important decision.

If you have contributed zero to society so far, and can’t manage your own life yet, why should you have a say in how the country is run?

  13. Billie Taylor, I added the video link to article yesterday evening, hope that helps.

Have not seen if this is on TV.

My guess, it will be edited/abridged to fit into a 30-minute time slot when/if it does go to TV.

Looks like Dr. Evans’ church is still not meeting in-person (Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship is a big church).

    IQ test?

What’s the difference between an IQ test and a literacy test, the latter being outlawed from Jim Crowe days?

I see the tongue-in-cheek, but trying to point out, IQ/literacy tests already been tried, and they are now unconstitutional.

  14. No such thing as Kingdom Voting when we are not electing a King & there is no Godly agenda and we’re not electing a King

  15. Wow did any of you listen to what he actually said?

I’ve listened to the first two.

If you’re short on time catch the first one because that best answers the comments people have made.

He’s challenging believers to have a heart affiliation that is primarily with God, not a party.

He’s concerned about how the angry divisions of our society are being reflected In the Church.

  16. I’m a disable man, live by myself, once served in the Marine Corp.

This was the answer I was given the day I voted, I prayed infront of the Boro building we vote at and I think we only have maybe 150 people and not all show.

I said to Jesus, I don’t like Hillary, had enough of the Clintons and I don’t know Trump, how should I vote?

I went in, signed my name, went to the voting booth and wrote in on evey line Jesus’s name and pulled the lever and it went.

I let it be his chice.

Hope you all do the same, I’m doing it again.

    God bless you all

  17. I’m a white man and I do not like feeling that I must put myself into a category to make a point.

    All lives matter.

I Love all of you and that’s a fact..

What I want to say is that it is so refreshing that beyond race we can see eye to eye on the values of our country based on our faith and the word of God.

Thank God for brother Evans and the truth..

I saw a transcript of (no names) so I’ll just say TD …..

And he is trying to steer the black vote to a party that endorses LBGT marriage and the killing of millions of babies and so on.

    It just sickens me.

So thank everyone that sees past color and race and gender to embrace the truth.

    Gary

  18. Are most Republicans rich?

We have been given choices by Jesus Christ and with that said what we do with our bodies and how we live our lives is between us and God and not for anyone to to enact laws because ultimately we musth answer to him.

With all the divisions and dishonesty not to mention the inadequacies he must be voted out.

  19. Are most Republicans rich?

It’s obvious that all lives matter but black lives never mattered for so many years and still today don’t matter to society as much as white lives.

    Hence the BLM movements.
