I’m considering leaving Illinois because we do have an unfair tax system, it’s just not what the governor thinks.
I think it’s unfair that my taxes are being used to pay for ridiculous pensions for buddies of politicians.
Why should I stay and pay for this mess when almost every other state has lower taxes?
Add to that the way our covid response combined with the violence has destroyed the Chicago area economy and I don’t see much good happening in Illinois any time soon.
I might have just landed a work from home position.
That means I can live anywhere with internet.
How many other people are looking for the exact same thing right now?
How many Chicago offices will just stay empty because we just proved we don’t need them?
The writing is on the wall if you ask me.

The governor and other billionaires in the State could voluntarily pay a surtax every year on their net worth to fund the teachers’ underfunded pension funds.
What about that billionaire tv lady Oprah who made her fortune in Illinois?
She verbally supports all kinds of causes.
Perhaps she could help the teachers’ pension funds.
Or the rioters and looters of Chicago’s Mag Mile who only stole to feed themselves and their kids.
Trump has donated his entire salary over 4 years to charity, worthy causes.
