Tribune’s View of McHenry County Misleading

In an editorial praising consolidation of local governments, the Chicago Tribune has the following sentence:

“McHenry County and DuPage County have made progress toward dissolving smaller governments within their boundaries.”

Perhaps someone could cite the local governments in McHenry County which have been dissolved.

Tribune’s View of McHenry County Misleading — 8 Comments

  1. McHenry Township trustees drastically cutting the pay and insurance perks of the worthless Assessor, Road Commissioner and Supervisor?

  2. Think the Tribune includes having specific votes on the township consolidation in two townships is progress under the McSweeney law, though both referenda were unsuccessful(?).

Also, the voters approval to consolidate the county recorder’s office into the county clerk’s office is on their list.

As far as DuPage, the DuPage County Election Commission was eliminated at the end of 2018, after the voters in the city of Aurora voted to eliminate the Aurora Election Commission, which was the reason DuPage County had a county election commission. DuPage voters in Aurora were never under the jurisdiction of the Aurora Election Commission as their election authority. DuPage County elections now run through the DuPage County Clerk.

  3. Don’t know about that newspaper.

They endorsed the worst ever president ever, Barak Hussein Obama, twice.

    2008 and 2012.

  4. So, the Tribune wants us to be California. Classic.

Has their “Editorial Board” gotten their head out of their $#%@! even ONCE this century..?

  5. Robert Williams is our prize chump. Wee wisdom from a deranged idler.
