DuPage County Plans No Property Tax Hike

According to DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin, current real estate taxpayers will not see payment hikes under the budget to take effect in December, according to the Daily Herald.

  1. In the midst of an economic catastrophe, why aren’t they slashing budgets and cutting employees with their fatcat pensions?

    No increase means nothing.

The taxpayers have less assets from income/investments to pay the existing tax hit.

  2. They need to cut their spending like we have to do to make ends meet.

There is no more middle class pockets to hit anymore we have been pushed down to working class poor.

Especially when no raises are given and prices keep going up.

CUT YOUR SPENDING, RELEASE THE DEAD WEIGHT, PAY FOR YOUR OWN INSURANCE AND RETIREMENT.

  3. Well, the pensions are guaranteed by the Illinois constitution, so letting someone go wouldn’t absolve the state of that pension obligation.

    No increase means nothing?

    Really?

My McHenry County tax bill went down $700 this year.

Will I have to bend over and grab my ankles in the future?

    Perhaps.

  4. Yipeeeee! But the dogsh!t County Bd of McH Co. Can’t even match DuPage.

  5. The McHenry County. board, as a whole, are simply terrible!
