Sheriff’s Office Investigates Single Motorcycle Crash

A 20-year-old Hebron man sustained serious injuries after a single motorcycle crash that occurred in unincorporated Harvard Saturday evening.

On September 26, 2020 at 8:38 p.m., the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Harvard Fire Department responded to the scene of a one-vehicle motorcycle crash in the 7200 block of Oak Grove Road in unincorporated Chemung Township.

Preliminary investigation indicated that a 2008 Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycle was traveling northbound on Oak Grove Road from Ramer Road when for unknown reasons it traveled off the roadway into the west ditch.

The driver of the motorcycle, the 20-year-old Hebron man, was flown by helicopter to Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford with serious injuries.

The passenger, a 21-year-old McHenry woman, was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Hospital in Huntley with minor injuries.

The driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, the passenger was wearing a helmet.

The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit.
