Sen. Wilcox to bring Mobile SOS unit to Johnsburg
McHenry, IL. – The Illinois Secretary of State’s (SOS) Mobile license facility is coming to Johnsburg Wednesday, October 14.
“You can obtain license plate stickers, driver’s license renewals and state ID cards, but not have to worry about making the trip to Woodstock, the nearest SOS permanent facility,” said Sen. Craig Wilcox (R-McHenry). “Precautions will be in place to help you stay safe.”
The SOS Mobile Driver’s License Unit will be at the McHenry Moose Lodge #691 at 3535 N. Richmond Road in Johnsburg, from 10 am to 2 pm.
The mobile unit cannot issue REAL ID cards.
Social distancing and face coverings are required.
Only checks or credit cards are acceptable.
Cash, legal tender is not recognized by the Sec of State office despite what it says on our legal note.
And they charge a fee to accept debit cards, not sure about checks though.

I learned too, in those days you didnt make your check out to the “Secy of State” or “Ill DMV”—you made it out directly to: Paul Powell.
My how times have changed, now they dont want cash and charge extra for the privilege of charging it.
Dont ever btw, get your licence renewed at the Emissions Station in CL, Fat 7.50 charge added no matter how you pay.
Line up at the Moose, Line up at Woodstock, whats the difference, aside from Moose will have some limitations.
But I guess its a good gesture and saves a trip to line up outside of Woodstock DMV.
Get yourself on the databases and biometric algorithmic rolls.
