Seven Years for Assaulting a Law Enforcement Officer

JOSHUA MARKSBERRY SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR AGGRAVATED BATTERY TO A PEACE OFFICER

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Joshua W. Marksberry,34, of Ingleside, Illinois, was re-sentenced for the felony offense of Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer, a Class 2 felony, following a negotiated plea before the Honorable Michael Coppedge.

Marksberry had been previously sentenced to a period of probation, but committed another Aggravated Battery in Lake County while on that period of probation.

Marksberry was sentenced to a term of seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections pursuant to the plea.

This sentence will be served concurrently with a sentence arising out of Lake County for the aforementioned Aggravated Battery.

This case was investigated by members of the Prairie Grove Police Department.

This case was prosecuted by Robert Ladd of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
