IL-06: Sean Casten Playing Cowardly Lion for Halloween

Cowardly Lion

After backing out of 3rd debate with Jeanne Ives, the reason Casten turned coward obvious

Yesterday (10/17), 6th congressional district Republican candidate Jeanne Ives tweeted the following:

The WTTW-TV debate was scheduled for this Tuesday night, October 20 at 7PM CDT. Casten’s campaign gave no reason why he backed out, but in every face-to-face encounter between Casten and Ives, the Republican has emerged victorious. Those events included:

One would think Casten’s campaign will announce some sort of “scheduling conflict” as a cover story for Casten’s cowardly act of avoiding a 4th consecutive beat down at the hands of Ives.

But yesterday in Florida’s 13th congressional district (St. Petersburg/Pinellas County), 2-term Congressman Charlie Crist backed out of an NAACP debate with his Republican opponent Anna Paulina Luna due to a “scheduling conflict”. Crist gets busted:

Following up the video from Florida, the 6th district of Illinois deserves better, too.

While Ives and Luna are both military Veterans though nowhere near age (Ives is 56, Luna a Millennial), the two Democrat incumbent congressmen must have something to fear in facing these two respective strong women. Both Casten and Crist were Republicans in the 1990s and 2000s, maybe cowardice is a requisite to be a Republican-turned-Democrat?

Nothing short of Casten testing positive for COVID-19 with a verified doctor’s report to prove it will absolve him of the blatant cowardice the freshmen incumbent shows with last minute decision to back out of the WTTW congressional debate.

  1. By chickening out, Casten is admitting he lost those other debates and he is admitting that the more voters see him the less likely they are to support him.

  2. It typically means somebody is ahead.

Ives is great, but this is not a good sign.
