The final Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings for McHenry County area congressional races submitted yesterday (Oct. 22) reveals the last full disclosure of campaign financing prior to Election Day.

As reported last week on McHenry County Blog, the FEC 3rd quarter reports filed was fundraising and spending from July 1 – Sept. 30.

The Pre-General Election FEC filings report October 1 – 14 campaign fundraising and spending.

Sean Casten

For the two week period ending October 14, the two women led fundraising, with Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (D, IL-14) raising the most. Republican challenger in the 6th district Jeanne Ives edged out Congressman Sean Casten (D, IL-06) by little over $16K in campaign receipts.

The incumbents, with their cash-on-hand leads have the most monies for the final 3 weeks of the campaign.

As evidenced by broadcast TV advertising, Casten and Underwood each began running new ads this week.

Ives began running a new TV commercial on cable TV this week. Thus far, 14th district Republican challenger Jim Oberweis has not released an additional commercial.

Jim Oberweis

And as reported on Tuesday (Oct. 20) on McHenry County Blog, the first super PAC spending for TV advertising opposing Oberweis began running on broadcast TV on Tuesday.

While the anti-Oberweis ad buy, through Independent Expenditure (IE) from the George Soros-funded House Majority PAC, budgeted $560K, the FEC IE filing this week listed the first week’s spend of $273.5K of a 52-race IE of over $28.5 million.

The 2nd half of the IE spend against Oberweis should appear in an FEC filing next week.

In addition to the Oberweis opposition IE, the Restoration of America super PAC submitted an FEC IE filing for $71,342 to pay for a mailing both supporting Ives and opposing Casten in the 6th district.

In addition to campaign receipts reported on the FEC filing, since October 14, each candidate raised additional monies which are filed on a “Form 6”, which is the FEC equivalent of an Illinois State Board of Election A-1, required for individual/PAC contributions of at least $1,000.

The following FEC Form 6 totals through Thursday, Oct. 22 do not include super PAC IEs, which are reported separately:

  • Lauren Underwood totaled $40.5K
  • Jeanne Ives totaled $28.4K
  • Sean Casten totaled $20.6K
  • Jim Oberweis totaled $13.8K

In a dozen days, Campaign 2020 will be over.

  1. When our own government with trogs like Pritzker, Biden, Beetlejuice Lightfoot, Under-pants, Franks, Kenneally, etc., no longer sees us as human beings with dignity and worth but as things to be manipulated, maneuvered, mined for data, manhandled by police, conned into believing it has our best interests at heart, mistreated, jailed if we dare step out of line, and then punished unjustly without remorse—all the while refusing to own up to its gigantic failings—we are no longer operating under a constitutional republic.

Instead, what we are experiencing during this scamdemic is a pathocracy: tyranny at the hands of a psychopathic government, which “operates against the interests of its own people except for favoring certain groups.”

  2. Please do not vote for the Abortion Queen, Lauren Underworld!

  3. Lani, I don’t live there but got my ‘slow’ brother and sister in law to vote for Oberweis.

    They are kinda dumb.

Trump supporters they are, but didn’t make the simple connection that Underwood is the swamp.
