TRUMP SIGN OWNER RESPONDS TO VANDALS – WON’T HIDE TRUTH
McHENRY, IL – Vandals thought they could silence dissenting opinions when they attacked a billboard supporting President Donald Trump recently.
The vandals appear to have filled balloons with paint and thrown the balloons at the billboard of a photo of the president and the words,
“PROMISES MADE; PROMISES KEPT.”
But their efforts failed as the owner of the sign put a message on top of the vandalized sign:
“Vandalism Won’t Hide the Truth!”
Evert Evertsen, of Harvard, paid for one side of the two-sided sign on Route 120 on the West side of McHenry (the other side, with the same message, was paid for by the McHenry County Republican Party).
Evertsen has demonstrated the courage of his convictions.
That’s not as easily said these days in the age of the ‘Cancel Culture.”
So, it didn’t come as a shock when the billboard was vandalized.
“This is pretty much to be expected these days,” he said.
“We’ve reached a point in America where free speech is only acceptable if it fits with the Left’s ‘Narrative.’
“The problem is that’s not free speech at all.”
He said that the people who support the Politically Correct ‘Cancel Culture’ are okay with selective support of speech because, currently, they agree with what they think is being said.
“They’re setting a precedent they won’t like so much when the worm turns, and they find speech they agree with has somehow run astray of the ‘Cancel Culture.’”
Evertsen said he put the sign up because he supports President Trump and because the message is true.
“President Trump has kept more promises than any other president in my lifetime,” he said. “
And I’ve been around a while.”
Amazingly, the stores in downtown Chicago, the mag mile, are boarding up again, as the election Tuesday may have a result the liberal criminals don’t like, or maybe they riot, loot & pillage anyway, because they can as the Lightfoot mayor will just let them run wild.
