  1. I’m curious.

How do provisional ballots and vote by mail factor, in this race?

It seems those votes don’t really count.

It must be true that mostly Election Day votes count.

    Were Early Votes counted?

    🤔😮

  2. Of course, the numbers are not final but Skillicorn looks to be the only rep in the county on pace to lose his seat. Even Steve Reick has a comfortable lead (I’m surprised about that), but Skillicorn is getting beaten like a dog. Think about that: Reick has tons of baggage but still does better than Skillicorn.

Will Skillicorn ever explain what in the heck went through his mind beginning this summer when he decided to vegetate for the rest of the election?

Also, this is a pretty close race so if Skillicorn had done anything, instead of nothing, maybe he could have won.

Seriously, what the heck is wrong with Allen Skillicorn?

You don’t want to run, you hold a thing for people to try out and replace you, you decide not to drop out, then you do nothing, and then you narrowly lose. Why? What was your end game here?

Skillicorn just handed Mike Madigan another seat on a gold platter. Oh, yeah, but he’s Mr. Republican! He’s a real patriot!

  3. In a recent article County Clerk Joe Tirio explained that provisional ballots are counted after making sure a mailed in ballot has also been cast.

The early and mailed ballots that arrived by Election Day are included in the figures.

  4. Thankful she won, but she does need to separate herself from Madigan.

  5. It was close and Skillicorn didn’t even try.

Imagine what even a slight effort might have accomplished.

  6. Skillicorn screwed every Republican in his area by not trying and not alerting the voters to try and find someone else to run.

    Awful bad character

  7. He must have been a secret Dumocrat from the start??

This is abnormal for a real Republican to give up the ship without even taking any fire, like a coward.

From now on he is to be called “Mutiny on the County” .

  8. Interesting that the State Republican Party didn’t do anything either.

Even if Skillicorn wasn’t into the race, he wasn’t going to go and spend his own money to win.

The State GOP wasn’t going to give him any money or backing why should he work then?

I guess they didn’t want to keep the seat either.

Having Skala write 2 letters to the editor bashing Skillicorn shows how petty Skala is!

He gave Schofield $7500 and was a waste!

Has Skala ever written a letter to the editor against Jack Franks or any other Democrat?

How about calling for Carlos Acosta’s resignation?

Has Skala ever called out Lauren Underwood or Sean Casten Just shows how weak and petty Skala is!

  9. The only help the State Party gave this year was the use of its not-for-profit mailing permit.

That was seen in the McLaughlin for State Rep. campaign and in the Mike Buehler for County Board Chairman campaign.

When I was running for State Rep., only one year was there any assistance. That was a mailing with my name and the other state candidates’ names asking people to fill out an absentee ballot applicaiton.
