Dave Chapman Running for Algonquin Township Supervisor as Independent

That’s what showed up on a Facebook page on September 24th.

Not being a FB person, I have to wait for such news from Friends of McHenry County Blog who notice them.

In any event, here is the main message:

An October 8th message follows

I have a huge passion to serve our Algonquin Township community but I need you help getting on the ballot for the Algonquin Township Supervisor.

Please join me this Sunday [Oct. 11] to sign my petition and get others to sign as well.

I need around 500 signatures so your participation would be greatly appreciated.

Let me know if you are coming by clicking or touching the GOING button.

Thank you.

His slogan seems to be “I will do more for you.”

Chapman informed McHenry County Blog that he is running as an Independent.

If he gets enough signatures, his name will appear on the April ballot.

Dave Chapman Running for Algonquin Township Supervisor as Independent — 10 Comments

  1. Knowing Dave Chapman for over two Decades, I strongly endorse him for the position of Supervisor for Algonquin Township.

Dave is one of THE Most Selfless people I know, and has dedicated years as of his life to improving the quality of life for residence of this area for countless years.

Please join me in endorsing Dave Chapman for this position.

    Thank you.

  2. Moan, if Chapman was so grand, he’d be trying to get townships out of our pockets and off the pension gravy train.

    Is Lutzow running again?

    I hope not.

  3. Will this altruistic character not take a fat pension? Will he even show up, unlike Supervisor Lutzow.

  4. Never cared for him on the Cary board, a good guy, did good things for the community– but didnt seem to rep for the people, more for himself it seemed, maybe he’s done good things at the Township?

  5. There is no good reason that these odd-year elections can’t be combined with the existing even-year elections.

It’s an unnecessary expense to hold the extra elections, and since very few people bother to vote in them, it is far too easy for a small, well organized group to prevail.

These odd-year elections are the main reason we end up with teachers union approved school boards and the same township rats winning year after year.

  6. It used to be worse.

Even after consolidation of elections in the mid-1990’s, there were five elections every two years.

School board elections were held in the fall of the odd numbered years.

Before consolidation, referendums could be held any day.

When I ran for County Treasurer in 1996, for instance, the primary election was on June 13th.

The Saturday before, Crystal Lake District 47 ran a bond issue referendum.

You don’t need to guess that very few voted.

  7. Elections must be managed, then phased out.

Only people like Franks will be ruling over you rubes soon.

Look how the last election is being stolen.

    Wake up fools!

  8. Gear, , what’s the basis of your conclusions?

Not disputing you, just wanna know.
