Marty McLaughlin Beats Mike Madigan Mail Deluge for David McSweeney’s Seat

To fill State Rep. David McSweeney’s district, Republican Barrington Hills Village President Marty McLaughlin ran unopposed in the March Primary Election.

After a party caucus, Democrats decided to petition a candidate against him named Marci Suelzer.

The district lies in three counties

  • Cook
  • Kane
  • Lake
  • McHenry

The results in Cook County saw McLaughlin leading by 1,1814.

In Kane, the smallest part of the district McLaughlin led by 80 votes.

In Lake County, McLaughlin won by 860 votes. All votes may not have been posted in Lake County.

McHenry County has, by far, the most votes in the district.

McLaughlin led opponent Suelzer by 3,217 votes.

The total margin was 5,971 votes by my math.

The 52nd House District where Dave McSweeney won a three-way primary election.

  1. Way to go Martin.

You beat a late in the game, Madigan funded, flood the mail kinda candidate—that was too close in McHenry county.

Do a job like Dave did in that Seat and it will never be close again, in any County.

    Congratulations.

  2. Funny how they continue to show the state map ALL BLUE and yet there used to some red here shown not anymore.. they just put up what they want the fake news.. … media… clueless

  3. Suelzer actual said that all Illinois HS students must pass a test on the Holocaust in order to graduate.

Good riddance Marci! Marci, stop overeating!
