Tribune Notices Mike Buehler’s Big Lead over Jack Franks for McHenry County Board Chairman

It’s a week after the election and the Chicago Tribune has published an article about how Democrat Jack Franks is losing.

It’s not definitive because Franks refuses to concede, still hoping against hope that uncounted ballots may earn him re-election.

The article notes that Buehler is ahead by 9,550 votes with “more than 1,900 provisional and vote-by-mail ballots yet to be counted.”

Also noted is that there are 16,000 vote-by-mail ballots outstanding.

However, County Clerk Joe Tirio thought only about 50 of them arrived on Monday.

Franks position:

“I want to respect the process and make sure the votes are counted. So we’ll see in a few days, there should be a clearer picture.”

The Springfield scandal that will be blamed for bringing Franks’ defeat is also mentioned and denied by Franks in the article.

  1. Jack Franks political career is over.

    He had it coming.

He is a nasty conniving sneaky dishonest creep.

if you don’t believe me ask the soon to be former Mrs.Frank’s.

I can’t help but wonder how his boys feel about having a father under a cloud of a potential jail sentence, not to mention how he publicly humiliated his entire family

    Herb must be so proud.

And all along it was David who is the black sheep of the family.

Why is this taking so long?

A good reason to totally eliminate “early voting” and “vote by mail” ballots. Election day should only be limited to 12 hours of walk-in voting. Either the first Tuesday of November or the first Sunday of November, a national holiday. Those who cannot physically walk in to a polling place on the designated day are simply out of luck. Those who believe in the importance of voting need to arrange their lives to be able to physically appear at the polling place on election day. If one is suddenly sick, in the hospital, emergency trip to out of state, etc., too bad, tough luck.

In addition, all early voting must be eliminated in that events and statements by candidates in the up to 45 days before an election day can (and logically could) change a voter’s mind on who to pick. If one sends in a ballot 45 days or 10 days before an election and then a day before election day regrets the choice, nothing can be done about this in the current system.

In addition to the pitfalls of casting an early vote, there are too many opportunities for mistakes and fraud with the current early voting and voting by mail process.

In eliminating all voting except in-person and on one election day, all States and municipalities must assure that sufficient and adequate polling places are available and with correct amount of staff and judges.

Finally, everyone who is a U.S. citizen must re-register in order to be a voter with bio-metrics and photo IDs created and a necessity for all.

A re-engineering and redesign of the voting system in all States must be completed in time for the 2024 national elections.
