The Algonquin Township Republican Party ran an ad in the Northwest Herald this fall.

It was full color, half-page some days, full-page others:

  • Second row: State Rep. John Henry Klene, Illinois Superintendent of Public Instruction candidate Ray Page and Ed Kucharski for State Treasuer
  • Third row: State Rep. candidates Bruce Waddell and George Lindberg, plus U.S. Senate candidate Ralph Tyler Smith, Sheriff candidate Nick Justen and County Clerk candidate Vernon Kays
  • Fourth row: State Rep. candidate Les Cunningham, Illinois Supreme Court candidate Charles Davis, Appellate Court candidate William Gould, County Treasurer candidate Audrey Walgenbach and Regional Superintendent of Education Richard Tazewell

    Looks like it says Vote No for Thorsen and the bottom rung if not all of them.

    Tabloid minded NWH readers do not read carefully.

    Why the hell did the GOP even buy an ad in that filthy rag?

  2. Can’t tell you about Skillicorn, who does represent part of Algonquin Township, but Reick does not and the ad was sponsored by the Algonquin Township Republican Party.
