33 Harvard Police Suicide Interventions during Covid – 12 Teens, One 15-Year Old Was Successful

A commenter reading the Lake in the Hills Police reports about suicide interventions asked a really good question.

How many similar contacts have been made by other McHenry County Police Departments?

Here is the answer from the Harvard Police Department since Coronavirus entered the public consciousness (March 1, 2020, has been used):

  1. How many were white males?

In a society that devalues you 24/7 in film, media, classroom, Trevor, what would a psychiatrist expect?

  2. Just more collateral damage due to DEMOCRAT controlled teacher’s unions.

Nothing to see here, move along – move along.

  3. **How many were white males? In a society that devalues you 24/7 in film, media, classroom, Trevor, what would a psychiatrist expect?**

Ah, yes, the poor oppressed white male.

But, also, I know that counting is hard, but just 12 of the 33 were males.

  4. DeputyDoom probably was was basing that on the fact that men are statistically shown to have higher rates of suicide (not attempts), but that’s changing now that women are behaving more like men and increasingly have higher levels of debt (especially student debt), anti-depressant usage, increasing alcohol and drug use, and have more troubled relationship and financial circumstances.

The shift in equality (where women have more responsibility) just means that men are having better quality of life.

CDC has all of the stats.

Women have the greatest percentage increase over the past decade or so but they still have a ways to go to catch up.

Some demographics are underrepresented in suicide but it’s balanced out by their increased rates of homicide within their isolated communities.

  5. Cal, you totally took my comments out of context.

I have no problem with them reporting suicide attempts in the blogs when requested.

The problem I had was the specificity as in “600 block of Plum St.” and the date and time.

The ones you report here today from Harvard are statistics that I am sure they generated for you under the FOIA.

Totally appropriate for the press and cannot be easily attributed to a victim or family.

The ones you printed from that other town were pretty fresh and a little TMI released, IMHO.

  6. Perhaps you should contact the LITH Police with your suggestion.

  7. Thank you I will, I am sure they know by now but, it must to be an oversight by a new administrative clerk because that cannot be the protocol for an accredited LEA in 2020.

  8. Stormy D, go buy some diapers and a teething ring.

Sugar coating things is NEVER the way to treat catastrophic social ills.

  9. The reason they are ballyhooing these tragedies (caused by the new world odor promoters) will be shortly known when they claim this is why they had to put lithium in your water supply. They are trauma bonding you to their scamming new world odor. The blood is on their hands.
