Filed by Crystal Lake resident Rudolph Funk, represented by attorney Michael Cortina, is a challenge to the legitimacy of petition filed last Monday for a referendum to abolish Algonquin Township as a separate unit of government.
The basis to the complaint follows:
No specific signatures are challenged, however.
Can’t challenge signatures without specifically identifying them in the Objection.
This petition will stand.
Looks like Michael Cortina is a financial services attorney.
Doesn’t seem to understand that Judges or Election Boards aren’t the ones to make your case for you.

Did the objector forget that specific signatures must be targeted?
Objection should be dismissed on its face.
And I support Townships.
But that Atty is a neophyte and ignorant of election law.

Randy Funk will be a outstanding public servant for the People of Algonquin Township!
His work and accomplishments with the Crystal Lake Lions Club over the past twenty years plus are proof of his commitment, hard work and dedication!
