House Probe of Madigan Ended

From State Rep. Dan Ugaste:

Ugaste Reacts to Special Investigating Committee’s Ruling

Geneva—After the House Special Investigating Committee abruptly concluded its investigation into House Speaker Mike Madigan today, State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) released the following statement:

“I am calling on my colleagues across the aisle to reconsider their decision to refuse to subpoena witnesses before the House Special Investigation Committee looking in to allegations involving Speaker Mike Madigan.

“Hearing testimony from only one witness who voluntarily appeared before the committee is no way to make a determination on this extremely important issue.

“Trust in Illinois government is at an all-time low and we must do what we can to restore the faith the people of Illinois have in their government and elected officials.

“One way we can actively do that is by conducting full hearings into the serious allegations raised against the Speaker.

“Today, I am joining House Republican Leader Jim Durkin in demanding the testimony of Speaker Madigan in this scandal and that the Speaker resign from office.

“It is time that we resume business in the Illinois House, which includes everything from pressing COVID-19 matters to comprehensive ethics reform.”

  1. Is it any surprise that democrats won’t investigate democrats?

To be fair I would expect the same out of republicans in red states.

This is why we need to get rid of the idea of being a career politician altogether.

Both parties are are corrupt so maybe the country does need some sort of reset.

  2. Wonder what caused the investigating committee to abruptly conclude its investigation. ?

    Your response Dan McConchie.

  3. “Trust in Illinois government is at an all-time low and we must do what we can to restore the faith the people of Illinois have in their government and elected officials.”

I don’t believe that is possible at this point.

    Sorry.

  4. Neal, the corruption in Red states is picayune compared to blue.

I hope the reset includes summary military tribunals for traitors.

  5. Hopeful visitor, as far as I know, Dan McConchie is not to blame for this. It was a 3-3 vote and then Dems have tiebreak.

Dems control the government in Illinois which includes the committees.

    Dems look out for Dems.

Yes, Neal, we need a reset but not what these Saturn worshiping technocratic pedophile oligarchs have planned.

  6. You should know my version of a reset would be very very different from what is being planned.

Wouldn’t it be poetic if the elites attempt to reset the world ends up resetting the elites?

That’s exactly the way God does things.

  7. Maybe, just maybe the old Irishman is totally 100% clean?

    🤣

  8. Not a chance.

Anyone in either party that has been around as long as Madigan has done something wrong at some point.

We just keep putting up with it, shrug our shoulders and say oh yeah that’s politics.

It doesn’t have to be that way, but it always will as long as we accept it.

  9. Wonder what caused the investigating committee to abruptly conclude its investigation. ?

    Your response Dan McConchie.

  10. Dan McConchie is in the State Senate, not the Illinois House.

  11. Hopeful Visitor, one might think the only thing that could stop it would be MONETARY PAYOFFS or BLACKMAIL!

Corrupt politicians find reasons to keep each other’s secrets.
