Suzanne Ness County Board Resignation Effective January 8

Suzanne Ness

County Board Chairman Mike Buehler announced he’s in receipt of Ness’ resignation

At the first regular McHenry County Board meeting for the biennium on December 15, Board Chairman Mike Buehler announced Board Member Suzanne Ness (D, Crystal Lake) had tendered her resignation effective January 8.

Buehler made the announcements during the Chairman’s update early in the meeting.

Because the Board seat will not be vacant until next month, the formal process to appoint a Democrat (must be a resident of District 2 and cast a Democrat ballot in the 2020 primary election) to fill the seat cannot begin until the position is officially vacant, and such is declared at a full meeting of the County Board, with the next regular meeting of the full Board scheduled for January 19.

Ness, the state representative-elect for the 66th Representative District, is scheduled to be sworn-in to her new elected office on January 13 in Springfield by Secretary of State Jesse White at the opening of the 102nd Illinois General Assembly.

As discussed elsewhere, when the Illinois House formally elects its Speaker may not happen until after January 13, and no House business can take place until the Speakership is decided.

  1. Uh, Martin, maybe she was Bernie delegate alternate.

And she thinks Hillary was honest.

    Is that enough?

  2. No.

You saying what someone you do not know thinks is not enough.

How would being an alternate for Sanders- which you say she “maybe” was – make someone not to be trusted?

  3. Martin, maybe she’s a pro-abort and Transgenderism cheerleader.

    Which she is!

Maybe she’s a born fool who thinks she’s pretty hot.

    Which she does!

Maybe she thinks Biden’s body has been taken over by aliens.

Maybe she uses talcum powder as a a feminine hygiene cleaner.

    Risky!

Maybe her oven hasn’t been cleaned in 14 years!

    Ughhh!

Maybe she inadvertently killed her African grey parrot ‘Kwame’ by forgetting about her tea kettle on the burner which evaporated dry and emitted toxic Teflon fumes.

    Sad!

Maybe she has a weird Nigerian email pal who she’s constantly sending naughty pictures and monthly $107 postal money orders. ???????

    Who the hell cares!

  4. You argue like children.

You assert things but never back them up with evidence.

When questioned, its deflection and personal attacks.

I did not say anything about Ms Ness’ trustworthiness.

I asked someone why they said she is not to be trusted.

Not surprisingly, that brings more nonsense.

  5. Gee you think she will even show up at the office?!

since none of her soon to be workers DO!

I’m sure they can fill her position with a RHINO out there…

  6. Martin you are pretty ‘Turkish’ in your creepy ways.

    Time to return to Turkey.

  7. Your comment: “Ness is a person who cannot be trusted.”

You say this publicly but anonymously.

I ask for evidence, you spout nonsense about Turkey.

That means this is just another of your cowardly anonymous attacks without any factual basis.

    You are a liar.

  8. You said Ms Ness is not to be trusted.

I’m asking why you say that.

I don’t know her at all, and don’t know much about her. So I am asking you a simple question: why is this elected official untrustworthy?

You said it, back it up.

And what the hell does Turkey- the country or the bird – have to do with this?

  9. Martin, Martin…

    You are a REGULAR here!

    You know the cast.

Your question was directed at MsTrumpion.

Did you really expect a satisfactory response from her?

Some people just don’t like Ness because she’s a Democrat.

Think about where you are right now, Martin.

Now I didn’t make the initial statement, but if I were forced to answer it I would point out that Ness was and is ambiguous about whether she will support Mike Madigan and that makes her untrustworthy.

Did you read Rich Miller’s recent op-ed about Democrats not returning his phone calls, texts and emails?

  10. Dang.

    A rational answer in sentences!

Yes, that Madigan support – at least by failure to condemn – is a mark against her.

How will she be at standing up against the next powerful but wrong leader?

Rand Paul and Mitt Romney seem to be examples of politicians who will stick with their positions in the face of a political backlash.

They are very different men in the same party, but I respect them for that.

Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz are so much more the bend with the wind types.

The black caucus in the Illinois legislature also sided with Madigan, sadly.

I hope when he is finally gone – to prison- the legislature will change their internal rules so we don’t get this again.

Any legislators of either party who work toward making the body function as a legislature rather than a fiefdom of lords and lobbyists, will get my vote.
