IL 14 – No Word on Oberweis Recount

Jim Oberweis

With Congresswoman Lauren Underwood due to be sworn into her second term on Sunday, it appears that the recount effort by Republican Jim Oberweis has come up short.

There have been no updates received since the effort began.

Articles about the DuPage County recount have the County Clerk reporting no changes from the original count.

  1. No one should be “counting” anything in a totally FAKE election! The whole thing was a nightmarish joke.

  2. Cindy, it’s a possibility, but there hasn’t been any evidence shown to back up that claim UNLIKE the presidential race where you see the cheaters on camera!

I’m not saying there wasn’t cheating.

    There may have been.

But there’s also the likelier explanation that Jim Oberweis is not a very good candidate.

I think even most the people who voted for Jimbo will admit that!

Anyway, Cal, Jim Oberweis was attempting to raise money on this “recount” and in the email he would write something like “this will not change the vote count.”

I found that to be a bad pitch…

Oh, and I did not send him money for his “recount” which has produced nothing of value.

He wrote me back and said something like “people’s addresses have changed” and I was like “so what?”

Give me more context, what did you mean by that?

Did they do anything illegal? He never elaborated.

And he is still losing last time I checked.

The guy (Oberweis) did not really lay down his strongest case (probably because there was no case), or how he was “cheated,” unlike Donald Trump, who I think DOES have a good case but the courts have said he does not.

Jimbo can’t even get to the courts in the first place.

Hey, since we’re posting kind of wacky ideas, I’ll share one too:

Catalina Lauf did not help Jim Oberweis, despite how close it was and there being a write-in candidate in the race, because Catalina Lauf did not want Oberweis to win!

She wants to run in 2022.

(That is my newest “conspiracy theory” lol)

Is Catalina-san doing a little wax on wax off with her Defense of Freedom PAC and Georgia tour?

Is she greasing the wheel, ladder, or pole so to speak?

It does look like she’s going to run again, as the commenter Roger Hubbard said in John’s post about the Karate Kid.

In 2019, Jim Oberweis and Danny Malouf had announced they were running by February for the upcoming 2020 election, so we could get announcements in the next few months from potential 2022 candidates (although we don’t even know what the districts are going to look like yet).

I would not be surprised if Lauf ran again, but what would Lauf be judged by?

For working for Rauner in the 2018 primary against Jeanne Ives?

For working in the Trump administration for about 7 or 8 months?

For running in the 2020 primary and finishing in third place behind Sue Rezin and Jim Oberweis?

For what happens in the Georgia runoffs?

She is campaigning for the GOP down there, so maybe we should judge her a little bit by the success/failure of what happens there?

Did Lauf do all she could do to help Oberweis in 2020, or did she give him the cold shoulder so she could run in 2022?

She has always seemed inorganic to me.

Her strategy is obviously making national connections.

    She’s running a top-down campaign.

She’s going to try to mog the district with a bunch of money and names!

“Here comes Dan Crenshaw and Madison Cawthorn.”

    I can see it now!

All the DC money pouring in to support her…

But did she build her connections HERE?

Did she build locally and then use the community’s trust to try to change DC or is she a creature of DC?

Is she using DC (the top) to influence the bottom?

Whatever Underwood is — a centrist, a socialist, whatever — should be more apparent by 2022 when she’ll be wrapping up her SECOND term in congress.

Eventually we should get to a point where even Republicans kind of know what to expect with Underwood…

    I’m pretty much already there.

Oberweis did do surprisingly well though, I’ll say that.

He came closer than anybody, including Underwood’s staffers, thought was possible.

I can admit when I am wrong.

I don’t like Catalina Lauf per se.

I did not support her in the primary.

But if she were the general election candidate instead of Oberweis, yeah, she probably would have won.

That’s sort of a hindsight thing because she wasn’t a very strong candidate in the primary, only won one out of 7 counties.

If Rezin would have just said “I will not support any FEDERAL red flag laws” (she supported them at the state level) I think she could have defeated Underwood too.

Now, let’s discuss Oberweis’s misteps, shall we?

One of the most colossal mistakes he made, in my opinion, was when he started the general election campaign.

He should have opened it up with a bunch of his money, millions of dollars, to tell supporters “hey, I have money. If you contribute, I will match.”

The man had no problem whatsoever using his money in the primary, but for some reason when he started the general election he was shy about using his own money.

I think that spooked supporters and kept them from donating.

    It’s all about signals.

I am not aware of Catalina Lauf ever telling people to give money to Jim Oberweis, and I believe she should be judged for that if she runs again.

    I’m just being honest.

Will Republicans have the courage to ask Lauf tough questions or will they simp for her?

You guys need stronger candidates because Underwood, despite whatever opinions you may have of her, is no slouch.

    Don’t ever underestimate any Democrat.

If you get off of this blog and speak to people in the real world, you’ll find out that there are many Democrats.

And of the Democrats, Underwood is one of the stronger candidates.

    So think about that…

    Take your time.

    Vet people.

    Select a decent candidate.

In the meantime, contact Underwood on issues you care about.

Maybe her mind is set, but maybe she wants to get re-elected.

    It doesn’t hurt to try.

Underwood’s office has written me back three times, fairly promptly, after I reached out to them so I know they see my concerns (just don’t always vote the way I like).

    Try again in 2022.

I really wish you do not select Lauf of Oberweis though.

    I have Lauf/Oberweis fatigue lol

  3. Obermoo pinched pennies and never wanted to appear as a White standard bearer.

    Way too PC.

He took ZERO measures to at least stop some of the democrat cheating.

Was ‘fine’ with cheat by mail.

    Joined the anti-Trump pile-on.

    Said Chris Wallace was ‘right.’

Lazy, cheapskate, weak, ditherer, –wants to be everybody’s pal– even the nice BLM thugs that would be eager to guillotine him, his wife and grandchildren —-that’s just how Hultgren lost!

Milk Dud, go cry at the country club (in Florida) how you hot ‘ripped off’ and brag how you ran a great RINO campaign on surrender values.

You, Milkfool, are a complete cuckservative.

  4. Karma a real b45ch buckwheat cheaters will get theirs not to fret

  5. Correcting nails it.

Honestly, Oberweis should have made a bigger initial splash.

On the other hand, don’t know if that would have been enough anyway.

    The guy’s SO BEIGE.

    Vanilla, no toppings.

On top of, generally, Oberweis fatigue .

    ✌️😎

  6. Did Oberweis hire Tina Hill and Nick Provenzano for his recount effort?

If so, there’s no wonder for the deafening silence!
