Election Challenges to Lakewood Candidates — 8 Comments

  1. Lakewood village officials and the administration continually do what they want without consequences.

Their names should be removed from the ballot and run as write-ins.

    Its as simple as that.

  2. Really going to argue staples?

I get it’s not how it was supposed to be done, but really?

    Publicly objecting?

That is as petty and ridiculous as it comes.

No wonder things take so long to get done.

  3. Their dishonest actions after they realized the staple error is really the major issue.

They simply do not believe the law applies to them.

  4. There’s typically thought to be some leniency or deference given to candidates seeking to challenge sitting incumbents when they make minor administrative mistakes in submitting their petition packages.

Although this was not the case when Sasha Chadwick was kicked off the ballot for far less an infraction.

But, here we are talking about sitting incumbents, some of whom have held more than one office.

I’ve had personal experience helping to hustle and re-gather petition signatures in order to resubmit petition packages on the day of the deadline to file.

In lakewood, I believe this is only a matter of gathering some 30 signatures which could be done in an hour’s time.

Far less if three or four of them gathered signatures at the same time.

But when sitting incumbents resort to intimidating the clerk into unlawfully resubmitting their package rather than simply taking the time to correct their mistake and resubmit appropriately/lawfully – and particularly at a time when Lakewood Village administrative employees are already walking on eggshells with an unprecedented number of even decades-long employees being fired at the drop of a hat, their is simply no reason for soft-hearted committee members to not follow the letter of the law and have these names stricken from the ballot.

  5. So if the crazies make a complaint about the incumbents it is fine…but if an incumbent makes a complaint against the crazies it is disgraceful.

I’m not 100% sure who is right in this until we hear the details, but I do know the crazies are incredibly condescending which makes them incredibly unlikeable.

And to clarify, you are crazies.

Condescending, personal attacks, bad language, and other unprofessional attacks.

One of you even called a board member evil.

Two wrongs don’t make a right.

  6. Too bad a third, solid, upstanding candidate hasn’t stepped up as a viable alternative to these two and put an end to this tit for tat nonsense.
