But Kinzinger is expected to run statewide in 2022, and with late census data, the primary may be pushed back from March 15
Last Wednesday, conservative Millennial activist Scott Presler visited Illinois. After he departed, he tweeted he was laying the groundwork to primary 16th Congressional District Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R).
On Friday, Presler started asking for volunteers to sign up, with the following message:
“Representative Adam Kinzinger betrayed his constituents when he voted to impeach President Trump. Conservative activist Scott Presler recently visited Illinois and has created a plan to democratically remove Kinzinger.
“If you live in Illinois’ 16th District, or you want to help volunteer, please fill out the form below.
“Scott is offering free trainings and will provide you with action items for how to make sure we remove and replace Kinzinger.
“The primary is in March 2022, so we have a little more than a year to prepare for victory.”

.
A problem with the introduction is the March 2022 Illinois primary, set by statute to be the 3rd Tuesday in March of even-numbered years, next year being March 15.
Also last Wednesday, the U.S. Census Bureau, at a webinar of the National Conference of State Legislators, told states not to expect the detailed Census 2020 data needed to draw new districts at the congressional, state and local levels until the end of July.
With a March 15 primary, the first day to circulate petitions is August 31.
Could new congressional, state legislative and county board districts be redrawn, reviewed, and approved in a month? Not likely.
And what about the Illinois Constitutional mandate for Illinois General Assembly districts?
On Thursday’s Capitol Fax, Rich Miller casually threw out one of the mitigations for the late census data, including inevitable court challenges, would be for the Illinois General Assembly to push back the General Primary Election from March 15 to a summer date, possibly as late as August 16, 2022.
The August 16 date would give the Illinois General Assembly, plus all county boards across Illinois, up to to four additional months to complete their respective decennial redistricting, with first day to circulate petitions in early February of 2022.
Many states, including big states like Florida, have similar primary dates for non-presidential primary elections.
Therefore, because of the reality of census detailed data being received by the Illinois General Assembly at the end of July, the Illinois primary election for the 2022 election cycle may not be in March, but much later.

Kinzinger = Austrian for haufenmist.
KINGzinger is a betrayal to the GOP.
He is always available for CNN and MSDNC but not his electorate.
I wonder if the Chinese have already gotten to him??
Cal, has Lakewood finished their investigation
My friend sent me this new article from the Chicago Sun-Times this morning.
https://chicago.suntimes.com/2021/1/31/22258326/rep-adam-kinzinger-movement-reclaim-gop-fringe-elements-qanon-marjorie-taylor-greene-trump
Kinzinger said, “this is no time for silence.”
That’s strange because he was invited to speak to his constituents at Washington Square Park yesterday and he did not show up.
Where is this “epic battle” for the “soul” of the GOP going to occur if not at Republican events and in Republican primaries? Maybe Kinzinger’s idea of “reclaiming” the GOP means going on CNN and badmouthing Trump.
The guy says he can’t be silent, then doesn’t show up to meet his people.
He wants to have a fight over the GOP but avoided confrontation.
He had an opportunity to explain why he voted the way he did to his constituents and he chose not to.
The last part of the article also stood out to me.
Kinzinger said “if they try to take action against me and not somebody like Marjorie Taylor Greene, well, that will be pretty telling.”
Why would Illinois Republicans censure a representative from Georgia?
Of course Kinzinger, a representative from Illinois, is going to catch more complaints from Illinois Republicans than Rep. Greene will!
Anybody surprised by that is a fool who has no business in politics.
Kinzinger is trash.
Throw him in the garbage.
Kinzinger is another Aaron Shock homophile chomping the GOP.
Ax him.
Kinzinger will be dealt a sad hand.
Traitors always do..
